Picture Perfect Puglia

Francesca and myself (Sarah) set off to Puglia in late October on a mission to get drone videos of as many properties as possible.  This was a risky adventure as relied solely on the sun shining and no wind!

Luck was with us as we had the most fabulous week with back-to-back sunshine and wind-free days.

Our journey took us from Cagliari (capital city of Sardinia) direct to Bari where we picked up a car.

From here we headed south to the beautiful Salento, stopping for an excellent fish dinner at Torre Santa Sabina (Ristorante da Turicchio). Heading on around Lecce, our first night was spent at Palazzo Guglielmo.  The super setting, comfortable bed and fabulous breakfast made it hard to get in to work-mode but after a trial of the beautiful hydro massage pool (well someone has to do it!!) we eventually got the first video in the bag, with help from the extra-friendly hotel cat – Nebbia.

Our next stop was at Casa Eve – such a stylish home (and such a stylish owner!) in the sleepy village of Marittima.

We also called by a new property, Villa Ortelle – such a surprise when we walked through the ordinary-looking gate off the street to find this little piece of paradise hidden away.  This villa can sleep up to 15 so perfect for extended families and groups of friends.

Moving a little reluctantly back up to the Valle d’Itria, which incorporates some stunning towns such as Ostuni, Cisternino, Locorotondo, Ceglie Messapica and Alberobello, we made our way to gorgeous Trullo Torretta, our home for the next few days, The dazzling white walls and sparkling pool, along with the lovely welcome from housekeeper Rosa, endorsed what a good choice this had been.

The sun continued to shine, and we managed to take all the videos, plus one or two extra, that we hoped for.  They are a great addition to our property pages and give a real feel to the layout of the villas, hopefully enabling you to choose the right one for your stay in Puglia.

Our last evening in Trullo Torretta was highlighted with the most amazing sunset but, as we boarded the aeroplane the next morning, the rain started to fall.  Luck was definitely on our side!
