This typical Tuscan villa boasts space, comfort and style making the perfect base for a great stay in the heart of Tuscany. La Sassolina is located on the edge of the picturesque hamlet of Iano, whose origins date way back to Etruscan times and is close to the provinces of Pisa, Florence and Siena. It’s an ideal location for day trips to the beautiful towns of Volterra and San Gimignano to name only two!
The villa was actually the local school until it was fully restored and refurbished in the late 20th century. Carefully furnished with local materials and splendid wooden furniture, it has 4 double bedrooms, 4 shower rooms. The is spacious villa is all on the ground floor with three entry points, so this makes it ideal for all types of parties whether a small or large family or a group of friends. The large kitchen is fully-equipped with everything you may need to rustle up some very tasty Tuscan fayre including hob, electric oven, fridge freezer, wood burning oven (should you wish to try your hand at pizza making) plus a great barbeque outside for throwing on a delicious steak or two and a few fresh vegetables – scrumptious!
Outside the stunning gardens surround the villa – you could not ask for a better setting with olive trees, flowering shrubs, lawns, a gazebo furnished with dining table and chairs, the glorious swimming pool with a children’s area and plenty of sun-beds and umbrellas. This really is the perfect place to spend lots of time relaxing and simply enjoying the spectacular countryside views across to Volterra and the Val d’Era valley – you would not be blamed if you never made it out of the gate though it would be a shame not to visit some of the beautiful hamlets almost on your doorstep.
Should you wish to be totally pampered during your stay at La Sassolina, you may even request the services of a cook who will come and create a fantastic local dinner for you and for those interested in learning the art of Tuscan cookery, courses may be booked during your stay. You may well surprise your friends on your return from Italy not only with your fabulous suntan!

Excellent villa and pointed to it with very good help on phone as I had a complicated itinerary with three teenage boys to get there at different times. Had a bit of problem navigating the website but part of that was I was using an iPhone. Pamphlets/info about what to do locally at the villa may have been better for first day or two.
