High in the hills above the Tuscan coastline, Casa Magiona is a stunning location for a group of friends to get away from it all. The village of Metato has been a real hit with our guests over the years and we are delighted that the owner of this house has decided to hand over his home to us for your enjoyment.
Casa Magiona sits at the top of the village and the views are spectacular; sunsets from here will be the highlight of your day as the sun slides into the Mediterranean Sea. Entry to the house is through a cloakroom and then into a wonderful living area which has been designed by architect owner to make the most of that view. No expense has been spared on the furnishings and some excellent artwork from a local artist adorns the walls. Floor to ceiling windows give you the feeling of floating above the valley below and at night time the twinkling lights below are hypnotising.
Passing through the living area there is an open plan dining room/kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons and this area is the perfect spot to rustle up a classic Tuscan dish or alternatively get a local cook to prepare you something special. Downstairs there are two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Both these bedrooms enjoy the stunning view and waking up here is a real treat every morning.
Externally Casa Magiona has an amazing terraced garden and the focal point is the brand new whirlpool, not the largest pool in our programme but without a doubt one of the most dramatic and romantic. The pool has been carved into the rock and has a wooden decking for sunning oneself. On another terrace is a hot tub which possibly has the best view of the village. The garden stretches out along several terraces and next to the house there is a delightful seating area where we are sure a bottle or two of fine Tuscan wine will be consumed. There is also a large dining table for lunches and evening meals along with a barbeque area. The terraced nature of the grounds and village mean that this stunning villa is not ideal for those with mobility problems.
Metato is a charming village and has a local restaurant which is only a short walk from Casa Magiona. In the village, there are several other properties owned by the same owner as Casa Magiona so if you are more than 4 people then please contact us as we can always add people to the party to stay nearby. Parking is below the house and the last stretch is by foot. Below Metato lies the town of Camaiore which has all the facilities required – shops, bars, restaurants, etc… Should you be able to tear yourself away from this little corner of paradise day trips abound: Pisa, Lucca, the Versilia coastline and the Cinque Terre being just a few.
Casa Magiona is a truly unique holiday home and we are sure that your time here will remain with you for years to come or until you return to enjoy again.
Please note that included in the price at Casa Magiona are the following services: Cleaning 3 hours every morning, shopping service (you provide the list and the produce will be delivered together with the receipt which is payable locally), there is a small larder where you can choose local produce and wine.
