Great 5 bedroom villa, the perfect family holiday house, in the little-known, beautiful village of Citerna, stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Arrival day: Saturday Car hire: Recommended
Villa Anna is a real treasure – the perfect holiday house. Just a few metres from the little-known, beautiful village of Citerna, it boasts amazing views and a wonderful pool. In Citerna there are two restaurants, small grocers, post office (and even a hairdresser!).
Upon arrival, the first thing you’ll notice is the magnificent pool in front of the house. Having taken in the pool, turn around and the view before you is staggering. There is private parking and a garage. A flight of steps leads you to the front door. Enter the house and the large kitchen is on your right – fully equipped with a dishwasher, oven, hobs, microwave, fridge and freezer. There are French windows out onto the terrace. Opposite the kitchen, there is the first of the double bedrooms and bathroom (with bath). The huge living/dining room is fabulous and has large windows from where to enjoy that view. Doors lead onto the large terrace where you can dine with the wonderful view as your backdrop.
The main double bedroom is large and next to the main bathroom (newly installed with a lovely large modern shower). There is a twin/double bedroom at the back of the house with views across the valley. There is also a double bedroom to the rear of the house with a bathroom with shower.
On the first floor, there is a large fifth bedroom which has three single beds and would be ideal for children (in the really hot months this room is warm as it is immediately under the roof).
There is a table tennis table, cycling machine and rowing machine (ergo) at the property for the use of guests too.
Despite being in the village, Villa Anna feels very private, the gardens envelop the house, with olive trees to the rear and terraced gardens. There is a pizza oven and barbecue, and it is possible to organise pizza lessons and have meals cooked for you at the house by Maria, the housekeeper. From the garden gate, you can walk along marked pathways to Monterchi, Anghiari and beyond.
Table tennis, rowing and cycling machines for guests. There are mosquito nets throughout the house.

Very well equipped villa. Kitchen had all the basics (apart from olive oil). Large and comfortable beds with good shower and toilet facilities. Amazing choice of area to eat outside giving full sun or shade as required. The views from the patio are spectacular... a feast for the eye. We would definitely return to this location and villa.

A previously unexplored bit of Italy for us, but really enjoyed it. All the benefits of Tuscany, without the crowds!! Super scenery, lovely villages, great food and drink. Villa Anna’s specific location was also perfect. Great views in a lovely little village. Yet again Essential Italy delivered on what we needed and provided an excellent holiday. We will definitely be using you again when we have our next Italian holiday. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time at Villa Anna. The pool was perfect and the views spectacular. The pizza making evening was loved by the children. Citerna was a delightful village and the restaurant recommendations were great.
