Description

This majestic villa sits on the hillside overlooking the pretty little town of Vinci – home of course to the one and only Leonardo. Casa Nova has been a family home until recently when the owners decided that it was just a little too large for 2 and we are thrilled to now have it on our books. The villa is easy to locate as you drive out of Vinci and we can guarantee that you really will feel like the lord of the manor once you have settled into this magnificent building.

Surrounded by beautiful and lovingly kept gardens, the main entrance is found under a covered terrace with a large hallway. A spacious and extremely comfortable lounge leads off the left affording great views from the two big windows. Sofas, TV and a grand piano add to the furnishings along with high ceilings and large windows making this a cool retreat from the hot Tuscan sun. A very elegant dining room with magnificent table sits to the right of the hallway – this grand room probably will not be used very much as the great kitchen leads off the dining area and, when not outside in the wonderful gardens, life will probably revolve around the less formal dining table in the kitchen. The kitchen has everything that the Italian chef could possibly desire as the owners themselves are very keen cooks.

Taking the marble staircase to the first floor you will find a modern double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, a second double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and then a third double and one twin bedroom that shares a bathroom. The level of furnishing is very high and the elegant theme is continued throughout the whole villa.

The hall and the kitchen lead out to the enclosed lawns at the back of the villa where there is a super pergola covered in jasmine for al-fresco dining and plenty of comfortable seating for lounging whilst perhaps planning your next trip out into the beautiful Tuscan hills. The infinity pool sits independently to the right of the villa affording superb views across Vinci and further afield – the perfect place to spend some time reading, working on the tan or of course, swimming!

The location of Casa Nova is superb as should you wish for a little exercise, the back gate leads onto a pathway – if you turn to the left and walk up the hill you will come to the birthplace of Leonardo and if you turn right, you will be in the centre of Vinci in about 10 minutes. With a full moon (or perhaps a torch!) you will be able to enjoy some of the fantastic food and wine on offer in the local restaurants in this great town without worrying about the drive home. Buon appetito!

In the grounds of this splendid villa is a one bedroom apartment which can be let with the villa. It has and ensuite bathrooms and air conditioning.

The Villa Casa Nova was amazing and exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect location for a relaxing family holiday. Beautiful. Very quiet but within walking distance to the town. We would definitely recommend Essential Italy and use them again. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful when booking and planning our travel arrangements. All our questions were answered and we were given a lot of helpful information.
