Casa Francigena ticks so many boxes for the ideal Tuscan villa. A lovely stone farmhouse set in immaculate gardens with views over the amazing countryside close to the medieval towers of San Gimignano. Care has been taken over the interior to ensure comfort and space for a family or group of friends, with ample outdoor space to enjoy lunches and dinners alfresco. The villa takes its name from the Via Francigena upon which it is located, a pilgrimage route to Rome which still today attracts pilgrims and walkers alike. The house is reached by a well kept unmade road which is suitable for all types of vehicles but ensures peace and quiet.
Entry is into a large living room from where one accesses (one step down) the huge kitchen, fully equipped with all mod cons. The kitchen has large French windows. Above the living room, there is a loft area which has a double sofa bed which could host an extra two guests. There is one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. There are a further two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom and a shower room and bathroom. The interiors are light and airy and have exposed wooden beams and traditional Tuscan terracotta floors.
The large private pool is set in splendid grounds which have been carefully planted to reflect the local area and for sure the sage and rosemary will be used on the barbeque. Your family meals will be taken on the covered terrace which makes for the ideal spot to enjoy the gastronomic delights of this area.
Casa Francigena is perfectly located to explore this stunning area of Tuscany. With the towns of San Gimignano, Certaldo and Volterra on your doorstep. Further afield Florence, Pisa, the Chianti wine region and Siena make for great day trips. We are sure that the privacy, location and quality of this home will appeal to many.

Fantastic villa. Air conditioning in en-suite bedroom and lounge was a challenge as both rooms are large and weather was 35C! Kitchen also warm which I suspect partly related to heat pumped out by two large fridges. No complaints at all. Giulia was very helpful and we would go back again. Thanks. August 2023

Both the owner Gulia and local rep Zaria were very helpful and had every confidence that if we had needed help it would have been available. Beautiful food hamper on arrival including a wonderful apple cake and local wine, plus further bottle of wine from local rep. Would most certainly book with Essential Italy again excellent service from start to finish and a lovely villa.
