The Giubbolini family have restored this fabulous villa with loving care and great attention to detail. It is located in Pancole on a hillside with wonderful views over the spectacular Chianti countryside.
Entry is into a small private driveway filled with the heady scent of roses and lavender – a great start to your stay! The large stone villa is to the left with beautiful gardens all around.
The Garden apartment is on the ground floor and is spacious one bedroom accommodation. The large hall has a sofa-bed and to the right you will find a large dining area and kitchen – to the left a large bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and bath tub. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Doors lead from the kitchen directy onto the terrace.
From the front of the house internal steps lead to the three upper apartments.
Panorama is a spacious two bedroom apartment with one large double room and a small single bedroom which share a shower room. It has an open plan dining/kitchen with a hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is the added bonus of a balcony with table and chairs from where you can enjoy a super view and enjoy a glass of chilled wine in the evening.
Alba has an open plan lounge/dining/living area. The kitchen is equipped with hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is a large double room with a shower room and this apartment has air conditioning.
Tramonto has an open plan kitchen/dining/living room. The kitchen is equipped with hob, microwave and a fridge/freezer. There is a spacious double bedroom with a shower room. This apartment also has air conditioning.
A communal laundry room with a washing machine and iron and ironing board is found on the ground floor and may be used by all guests.
Mario Giubbolini is quite rightly very proud of the grounds at Podere San Luigi and this is almost certainly where you will spend much of your time. There are fruit trees in abundance and over 500 scented rose bushes giving off a wonderful perfume. The gardens have been carefully designed with lots of private seating areas where you can enjoy your book in peace and there are loungers around the beautiful pool. There is also a communal pizza oven and barbecue where you may try your hand at baking some crispy pizzas or grilling some delicious Tuscan steaks perhaps washed down with a couple of glasses of Chianti.

We had a really lovely holiday in the most beautiful location. The hospitality of Mario and Annalinda couldn’t be faulted, including an excellent dinner one evening in their apartment together with the other guests. The house is situated in the most beautiful gardens, with a lovely pool, which encouraged enjoying the tranquility of the valley and simply doing nothing if we so wished. We’d certainly go back.
