Light, airy and modern, this gem of a holiday home is situated high on the hillside just a few kms from the medieval village of Scopello. With fantastic views across the sparkling bay, this is a great location to literally get-away-from-it-all.
The recently built property had been carefully thought out with a great eye for pale and cool furnishings and all the necessary equipment that you need whilst on holiday. Local plants and flowers abound even though the Sicilian owner prefers not to manicure the gardens as he believes that nature should be as intended.
A flight of 40 stone steps takes you from the parking area to the villa. Entry takes you into a good sized open plan lounge/dining area/kitchen with plenty of space for relaxing in the cool should the heat get too much for you outside. The lounge has a TV/DVD player and stereo for your entertainment and the kitchen is very well equipped to try your hand at rustling up some good Italian fare with gas hob, fridge-freezer, oven, dishwasher and washing machine.
There are 2 bedrooms at Conchiglia – one double and one twin plus a bathroom with shower. The area is particularly peaceful and should you get a little too hot during the night then you just need to switch on the air conditioning.
The outside area is where you will undoubtedly spend much of your holiday and alfresco dining will be a must. The little pool will invite you to take a cooling dip at all times of the day and the great covered terrace will be the base for meals, games, discussions and, wine tasting whilst you take in the stunning views by day and count the stars by night. Who could ask for more?
Scopello is the nearest village where you will find a taste of Sicilian life; there is a good choice of restaurants, bars and to-die-for ‘Pasticcerie’ or cake shops. Nearby is Tonnara, the old Tuna fishing bay which is now a popular swimming area with crystal clear waters and spectacular rock formations. Palermo is only 55 kilometres away and with Trapani (25km), Erice (30km), Marsala (40km) all within a short drive you will not be without things to do and see.
Capo San Vito is about 30 minutes drive and is a lively resort with a truly spectacular sandy beach. Just 2 kilometres along the coast the Natural Park dello Zingaro provides some of the most beautiful coves and cleanest of waters to be found in Sicily. Leave your car at the gates and venture into the park by foot, you will not be disappointed by the stunning scenery of this area.

Our first choice of villa wasn't available but the booking team made an excellent recommendation as an alternative which we went onto book. The booking and payment process was easy and quick. Lots of predeparture information. We loved the peace and quiet of Villa Conchiglia and the views were truly stunning. The villa was well equipped and perfect for the two of us. You definitely need a car for this villa as it is up a steep winding road and a 10 minute drive from shops and restaurants. We will definitely look at booking with Essential Italy for our next Italian trip. September 2024
