With Trapani on the doorstep, you may choose to do some site-seeing in this super historical town, home to the Romans, Arabs and Phoenicians to name but a few, or laze on the beach just 800 metres away and gaze out to sea.
The residence with its arched walkways and creamy coloured local stone has been beautifully restored, maintaining the character and charm of the Carmelite Palace whilst adding a contemporary theme. Marble, wood and stone blend perfectly and the big windows allow you to enjoy the view at all times of day and night. Breakfast is served on the stunning roof terrace with an unbeatable panorama of both the sparkling sea and the terracotta rooftops of the town. Please note that this is the only place to be at sunset when you can sit, with a glass of cool white wine, and watch the spectacle of the red sun as it drops into the sea. Magical!
The 20 rooms at La Gancia are all very comfortable and stylishly furnished. All are equipped with double bed, some with a small sitting area complete with sofa bed, television, air conditioning/heating and ensuite shower room. The hotel offers both a B&B and an apartment rate which includes the use of the small kitchenette, found in all the rooms consisting of a microwave oven and fridge/freezer and 2 hobs just enough to prepare drinks and light snacks.

With the town and beach so close, La Gancia offers great accommodation without the need of a hire car – the town, port and beaches can be easily reached by foot, the medieval town of Erice can be accessed by and there are regular services from Trapani across to the beautiful Egadi Islands – a super day out.

Nice large airy and functional bedroom with an excellent sea view. The rooftop breakfast room was special where we had a hearty breakfast from a choice of good local produce supported by attentive staff. The receptionists were also most helpful with restaurants and in general.
