Description

Stazzo Le Saline is an old traditional farmhouse thoughtfully converted to create comfortable and stylish accommodation whilst retaining the original character of the building – these old farmhouses are very desirable and getting more and more difficult to find. The juniper gates lead up the rosemary-lined driveway to a covered parking area where you take the short path to the front of the property. As you stand on the grass looking out to sea, you can understand why the original owners decided to build here, the views across the bay are just lovely.

Upon entering the Stazzu you’ll find a large and airy lounge/dining area with beamed ceiling and hand-painted murals, two sofas, the original stone fireplace and a large dining table. The beautiful ‘cotto’ stone floor runs throughout the whole building and its red and yellow hues make it quite a feature and beautifully cool on the feet in the hot weather. The sleeping accommodation is set at either end of the living room ensuring privacy for all guests, at one end is the master bedroom with large 4 poster bed and plenty of space for an extra bed (if required) or cot, plus ensuite shower room. At the other end of the lounge are two twin bedrooms with a second prettily tiled bathroom with generous walk-in shower.

Even though the rooms are all air conditioned, the thick stone walls (over 2 feet!) ensure the interior remains comfortable atnall times. The country kitchen also leads from the lounge and is well equipped – full-size oven, double sink, 4 ring gas hob, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. The original stone fireplace has been left untouched, and the fragrance of the juniper-wood fittings makes it a pleasure to spend time here whilst cooking with the wonderful fresh produce found at the local markets. A door opens up onto a terrace, perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner… there’s also another covered dining area next to the barbecue if you fancy trying your hand at grilled fresh sardines, crispy pork or some delicious seasonal vegetables.

To the right of the Stazzo sits the private swimming pool, perfectly situated to while-away the hours enjoying a glass of wine, taking a cool dip and admiring the views in the glorious summer sunshine. The garden is completely enclosed and perfectly safe for children. Weathered, wild olive trees and oaks provide cool shade to take refuge from the midday sun. The nearest beach is just a 2 to 3-minute drive away (5–10-minute walk) should you like a change of scenery.

Stazzo Le Saline is the perfect destination for a great family holiday, it’s comfortable and spacious and all our guests have had a lovely time here.

What our guests say

Peter Marshall, Solihull

Our holiday was superb. Stazzu is a fabulous villa with breathtaking views. The real benefit of this time of year (May) is the complete lack of crowds – it felt really quite special to be enjoying this part of the world in such tranquility. And the local shopkeepers and restaurateurs etc. actually got to know us and had time to talk, and we felt the host of local beaches were virtually private! Please pass on our thanks to Sarah for her special care.
