Santa Teresina, Sardinia
From £2,300 per week
Beautiful 3 bedroom Sardinian villa with private pool set in lovely gardens just a short drive from the spectacular Costa Smeralda and famous Porto Cervo.
Arrival day: Saturday Car hire: Recommended
This beautiful private villa sits in the tranquil Sardinian countryside with superb views of the lush surroundings and magnificent granite rock formations. The location is perfect, just a 10-minute drive to Porto Cervo where you'll find boutiques and designer names in abundance, some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean, the most stunning boats in the harbour and the chance for some serious celebrity spotting. Taking the road in the other direction, Baia Sardinia, Cannigione and Palau and the archipelago of La Maddalena are all within easy distance and offer a good choice of shops, restaurants and more astoundingly beautiful beaches.
The private driveway, lined with indigenous plants and super flowering bushes, leads to the pool area and front door. The villa is basically single-storey with various steps and levels internally that tastefully break up the layout. The interior design has been created with a passionate use of Sardinian materials, from the inlaid juniper wood in some of the floors to the cork arched ceiling in one of the bedrooms. The spacious open-plan lounge boasts a large fireplace, round dining table (though when you see what’s outside, dining indoors is highly unlikely!), a seating area and a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, fridge-freezer and hob. The back door leads out to another private, paved area that takes you to the laundry room.
Leading from this lovely, air-conditioned, living area are the 3 bedrooms, all beautifully furnished. The twin bedroom (which can easily be made into a double) is nearest to the front door, the other two double bedrooms lead off the lounge area and boast big french windows opening out into a delightful small grassed garden perfect for reading your book or sunbathing (if you can tear yourself away from the poolside).
The swimming pool can only be described as fabulous. The granite rocks were dug away leaving a natural basin that became the pool and the unobstructed views are glorious. Comfy deckchairs line the poolside, and there is a great built-in barbecue just waiting for some charcoal and locally caught fresh fish. The large wooden table that sits between the barbecue and the pool is probably the focal point of the villa, and will no doubt be host to many delicious alfresco breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
Lu Triuzzu is very popular with our guests, many returning year-after-year so early booking is recommended.

Villa was charming and what we hoped for... we have rented villas for over 15 years across Europe (but never Sardinia) and have never experienced such fantastic and charming help locally. Sarah was brilliant, genuine, knowledgeable and kind. We've never used Essential Italy before but I would absolutely book with you again should we want to return to Italy. Finding genuine experts in the UK is, bizarrely, difficult and everyone we dealt with really knew their stuff.

Marvellous location. Superb outdoor space. Fantastic pool. Spent most of our time in the villa grounds.

Brilliant, fantastic views and so very peaceful. Sarah and Myriam were extremely friendly, professional and helpful, every question asked was answered promptly. Overall, we had a brilliant holiday, such beautiful beaches, good food and wine, we will definitely go back. Our only regret is that we didn't get to sail out around the islands of La Maddalena, still that is a good enough reson to visit Sardinia again.
