The Tuscan Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music
Posted on
When you think of music and rolling hills, your mind is probably instantly drawn back to that iconic music scene in The Sound of Music when Julie Andrews’ character is running through the hills of Austria. But now the gorgeous Tuscan hills are filled with music!
If you’re lucky enough to be heading over to one of our villas in Tuscany, you may be able to hear the faint notes of Mozart’s classic and familiar scores. That is because one vineyard in Tuscany plays music by the classical legend to his resident grapes in the hopes it will make them sweeter.
Giancarlo Cignozzi has been playing Mozart, through speakers set up in the fields, for several years now and according to him the grapes are a lot sweeter; he believes playing the music has allowed the quality of his grapes to improve.
It has been noted that classical music can have positive effects on both humans and animals, so why not the grapes? We’re not exactly experts on this… all we know is that walking through a gorgeous vineyard, with the sun shining down and the harmonious notes of Mozart playing in the background, is probably one of the most idyllic and romantic experiences you could have in Italy!
