Todi, Umbria

A classic Umbrian country villa. Elegant, stylish and comfortable. Super views of Todi.
Arrival day: Saturday Car hire: Recommended
The house is decorated with English and French antiques and Oriental rugs; the emphasis is on traditional style and comfort with contemporary accents. The terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings throughout use traditional Umbrian materials. The spacious kitchen on the ground floor is a focal point. A treasured housekeeper will always put a smile on our guests' face. She is happy to cook delicious country meals (and babysit) for guests, upon request.
Villa Torregentile can comfortably sleep ten. The layout is uncomplicated and flexible. It is perfect for two families to share, as well as ideal for a honeymoon or a couple on a romantic interlude. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with fireplace and dining table, the kitchen, a service bathroom, a second living room with fireplace where sofas can become 2 extra single beds, on request, so that the house could accommodate up to 12 if necessary. The ground floor is completed by a double bedroom (queen size bed) with en suite bathroom (shower). Fans are provided in the cooler bedrooms of the ground floor, on request. Thick stone walls keep the heat outside on the lower floor of the house.
The sleeping area on the first floor consists in 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All bedrooms of the first floor are air conditioned (150 euros/week the extra cost for air conditioning, if needed). Two double bedrooms (double beds) and a twin bedroom that accesses to a covered terrace with table and chairs, 1 shared bathroom with shower and bathtub. A spacious master bedroom (queen size bed) with fireplace and en suite bathroom (shower), this elegant bedroom has a direct access to 2 terraces, a private one, with table and chairs, and the scenic covered terrace that is shared with the twin bedroom. Master bedroom and twin bedroom could become a family suite.
The beauty of the villa owes much to the gardens and views. Old stone walls, dating to the 12th century, create rooms in the garden. The landscaped pool area is safely enclosed by chestnut beam fencing and thick hedging. There is plenty of natural shade, chaise lounges and deck chairs. There are several marble tables - for dining al fresco - and a kitchen herb garden. It is all about the pleasures of fine food and wine: meals can be savoured under the kitchen pergola draped with flowering vines. The barbecue is a raised stone grill; there is a ready supply of locally supplied logs. The house and pool enjoy sweeping views across the countryside and to Todi.
For those looking to explore day trips abound. Todi is a real gem and towns such as Orvieto, Spoleto, Assisi and Montefalco are all a short drive away and for that wow factor Civita' di Bagnoreggio is a must. We believe that your stay at Villa Torregentile will regenerate the batteries and provide you with the ideal setting for a relaxing and fun filled holiday.

We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Torregentile. The villa was fantastic: very spacious, tastefully renovated and in a fabulous location with great views. The surrounding countryside is beautiful; the white road leading in strewn with poppies and we were able to pick cherries full of sunshine from the trees. I would thoroughly recommend it. We felt very fortunate to have had some time there. Thank you for all your help and expertise - it led us to a lovely restorative holiday. May 2022
