Villa Sambuco offers great accommodation that has been tastefully furnished using period materials such as handmade terracotta tiles and wooden beams. Dating back to the early 19th century it was built as a self-sufficient farmhouse complete with cattle-shed, pigsty and barn – restored completely in 1998 and refreshed in 2010, it is now the perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing stay with many Umbrian towns and villages just a short drive away.
Made of local black lava stone and furnished with antique furniture, the farmhouse atmosphere has been preserved without compromising any of the comfort.
On the ground floor you will find a comfortable living room overlooking the gardens with open fireplace making it cosy in the cooler months. A very well-equipped kitchen is located next to the separate dining room that opens out on the covered patio where many al-fresco meals will be enjoyed during the hotter months of the year. Leading off the living room is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
Stairs from the living room lead to a mezzanine level where there is an impressive suite with with open fireplace and features a double bed, armchairs and table. There is also a small studio with desk, plus an en-suite bathroom. The suite leads into a large living room with three sofas facing another fireplace, television and stereo.
On the first floor you will find 3 more double bedrooms (beds not divisible) all with their own bathrooms.
Outside Villa Sambuco is encompassed by 7 acres of private land – close to the villa the gardens have been landscaped and are dedicated to the super pool and its’ paved surround, an orchard and a vegetable garden. The rest of land has been planted with alfalfa so whichever way you gaze, you are surrounded by greenery.
A small porch next to the patio is home to the wood burning oven which allows guests to try their hands at some inventive pizza making or perhaps some simple bread. There is of course a barbeque for grilling some of the fabulous vegetables straight out of the garden or some tasty steaks and spare ribs purchased from one of the nearby villages.
Villa Sambuco offers everything needed for a super stay at any time of year and we know you will struggle to leave this oasis of calm and comfort.
