Villa Ciano has been restored to a very high standard ensuring guests have the most wonderful stay in this glorious setting. Original stone walls, beautiful ceilings, old beams, terracotta tiled floors are mixed with a myriad of modern technology such as underfloor heating and cooling systems, electric blinds, heated pool, chromotherapy shower heads and much more.
Once a former country residence, Villa Ciano dates back to the 17th century and many of the original features are still present. Spread over 3 levels, the original stables on the ground floor have been transformed in to a delightful vaulted sitting room, a spacious dining room leading out to a super covered dining area under the portico and a professional kitchen with everything you could possibly need. There are also 2 en-suite double bedrooms on this level – one having direct access out to the gardens.
An impressive staircase leads up to the first floor where there is another cosy lounge with open fireplace and a great library. Here there are 4 double bedrooms all with their own shower rooms along with a family suite with double bed plus sofa bed and bathroom (with tub and shower) so perfect for a young family.
The second floor is composed of a self-contained apartment with a double bedroom and lounge area with double sofa bed. There is a large shower room and a kitchenette with electric hotplate, small fridge and dishwasher. From this apartment guests may access the gym.
Should the stairs be too a little too much, the attentive owners have installed an amazing lift made of glass, antique iron and wood that services all 3 floors.
Outside the gardens are an oasis of privacy and tranquillity. The covered portico makes al-fresco dining a delight at any time of day and night and the beautiful lawned gardens lead to the inviting oval shaped pool with built-in steps, a jet stream, 4 jacuzzi jets and waterfalls! To get the perfect feel of being in Umbria, the garden is surrounded by fields of sunflowers and gentle meadows with a pretty stream flowing by. There are plenty of sunbeds dotted around and you can challenge your fellow house-mates to a game of ping-pong or a round of croquet should you feel the need.
With so much to enjoy at Villa Ciano you may struggle to leave the property, but should you wish to venture out there are plenty of fabulous towns and villages to visit - Spoleto, Gubbio, Todi, Gubbio to name but a few along with some spectacular wine tasting venues. A cook service is offered should you like to try some delicious in-house meals and the nearest village is just 2.5km away – a gentle stroll for a cappuccino, glass of wine or a local dinner.
