This charming residence affords you complete privacy and serenity, and a unique 360 degrees view of the Val d’Orcia, which has been identified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. Whether visiting the villages, enjoying the outdoors, or lounging around the house, it is truly the place where one can experience "la dolce vita" amid the Tuscan countryside.
The two-story villa, which retains its historic façade, is completely renovated and fully equipped with all modern comforts including internet access, satellite television, and an infinity pool. Il Sambuco has 6 bedrooms, each with a private bath. Three of the upstairs bedrooms possess extraordinary views of the valley and the estate. The two downstairs bedrooms provide guests with private entrances.
All bedrooms are furnished with king-sized beds. A large dining room abuts the modern and fully equipped kitchen. The living space includes two large entertaining rooms perfect for hosting private parties or relaxing with family and friends. One patio, covered with grapes and roses, with 2 large tables near the dining room is the perfect location for meals, the other is at the pool near the pizza oven.
Neatly furnished and decorated with contemporary and antique furnishings, the owners’ personal contemporary art collection brings life to the walls and interior surroundings. The swimming pool gives you a breathtaking view across the valley, which extends from Radicofani to Pienza. Off to the side, is a small gym allowing guests the opportunity to exercise using top of the line weighted cable resistance training equipment.
Villa Sambuco is completely fenced and guarantees absolute privacy. The house is situated on a two acre, fenced-in property and is immersed in total silence, broken only by the singing of birds. Note that due to its elevated position (about 600m), even in Summer it gets chilly in the evenings. The estate is thickly wooded and according to the seasons dotted with wild roses, broom, prickly pear, violets and holly. Wildlife including cuckoo birds, pheasants, hares, boars, deer, and porcupines find a perfect home in these woods.
The villa is surrounded by spacious (automatically-watered) lawns and terraces with several different outdoor seating areas. Within the property you will find a unique meditation garden ideal for reading and relaxing, and a main garden with a varied rose collection. The gardens are complemented by two large wooden-floor decks that provide guests with unique views of the valley and surrounding towns. Guests will also enjoy fresh fruit, eggs and vegetables from house’s own vegetable garden, chicken pen and orchard.
