Surrounded by peaceful woodlands and terraced gardens, with sweeping views of the sea and valley below, this villa offers total tranquillity and a deep connection to nature—yet is just a short stroll from the charming village of Metato.

Inside the Villa Villa Eremo combines traditional Tuscan character with stylish contemporary touches. The heart of the house is the light-filled living room, with comfortable sofas, a fireplace, and large windows that open directly onto the garden. To one side you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen, and to the other, a beautiful dining room—both with direct access to outdoor spaces, perfect for easy al fresco dining.

Upstairs are three bedrooms:

One flexible small double/twin room with garden access and a private bathroom across the landing. Two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and stunning views—one with its own garden access. Clever design features allow children to move safely between these rooms via a secure, lockable outdoor passage. The fourth bedroom is separate from the main house, accessed via external steps leading to a private terrace with arguably the best view on the property. This spacious double (or twin) room comes with its own en-suite and a table and chairs for relaxing with a drink as the sun sets.

Life Outdoors Villa Eremo truly shines outdoors. The terraced gardens, dotted with quiet seating areas, lead you through olive trees and flowers to spaces designed for total relaxation. Whether it’s enjoying a long lunch at the outdoor table, dipping into the plunge pool, or soaking in the hot tub under the stars, this is a place to unwind and breathe deeply.

Three friendly donkeys wander the grounds, lovingly cared for by the owner—guaranteed to charm guests of all ages (and your Instagram followers!).

A True Tuscan Escape The word eremo means hermitage, and this villa lives up to its name. There is no direct road to the property, adding to its magical sense of seclusion. Upon arrival, you’ll be met at the village car park, where your luggage is transported for you. Guests are driven up the hill, with the final 150-metre walk through the woods offering a fairytale-like entrance to this special retreat.

A 4x4 Panda is available for guests to use to get between the villa and the village if needed.

Eat, Drink & Explore A short stroll down through the gardens brings you to Metato, where a delightful local trattoria serves traditional Tuscan meals. Twice a week, the owner also prepares food for guests at a nearby communal BBQ area—a wonderful chance to meet fellow travellers and enjoy freshly cooked local cuisine. Fancy dining in? A local cook can be arranged to prepare a delicious meal at the villa.

From your peaceful perch above Metato, some of Tuscany’s best sights are within easy reach: Lucca, Pisa, Pietrasanta, and the beaches of Versilia are all nearby. For longer day trips, explore Florence, Cinque Terre, or the marble caves of Carrara.

A Few Practical Notes: Due to the unique setting, the villa is not suitable for those with limited mobility. Wi-Fi, linens, towels, and essentials are all provided. Meal preparation and additional housekeeping can be arranged on request.
