Description

Palazzo Rosadi is in the small hamlet of Ripoli just 2.5 kilometres from the pretty town of Monterchi where there is a great selection of restaurants, bars and shops. The Palazzo has been in the Rosadi family for over 200 years and was extended back in 1902 to its current size. Following a complete refurbishment in 2002 it is now a very comfortable villa offering a super base for a Tuscan holiday. Located on the Umbrian border means that gems such as Assisi, Perugia and Spoleto are also within easy reach. The Rosadi family are local farmers growing sunflowers and tobacco and they own much of the land around Monterchi.

The Palazzo is set in 25 hectares of private parkland which ensures privacy and quiet. The gardens are beautifully kept with an abundance of flowers, trees and shrubs. There are also large areas of lawns perfect for youngsters to run and enjoy ball games.

Entry to the palazzo is via a small hall with stone steps that lead down to a large dining room and comfortable lounge area. There is a large, well-equipped kitchen (six ring hob, large oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave) which has doors leading out into the gardens.

From the entry hall stairs lead straight up to the first floor where there is a good-sized study area, a second comfortable lounge with a balcony and four double/twin bedrooms. Three of these bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms and the fourth room has a shower room along the corridor.

From the study on the first floor, another flight of steps lead up to the second floor where there are two additional double bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms.

The fabulous pool is on a large terrace just below the Palazzo and offers a splendid view over the valley. It is well equipped with sun-loungers and chairs from where you can soak up the sunshine and take in the amazing panorama. A Jacuzzi nestling in its own gazebo also sits by the pool – another great retreat for unwinding after a hard day of walking up steep Tuscan hills (please note that there is a small charge payable locally). There is also a shower and changing room by the pool.

To the side of the villa is a large furnished dining area allowing you to eat al-fresco at all times of day and the super barbecue will no doubt be lit for some excellent grills of local meat and seasonal vegetables.

There are two mountain bikes at the property for your use plus a table-tennis table to keep the children entertained. The owners provide a warm welcome with a complimentary buffet dinner on the night of your arrival ensuring your holiday gets off to exactly the right start. We can also organise cooks at the Palazzo, wine tasting, additional cleaning, babysitting and cookery courses for an additional charge.

We are delighted to offer you Palazzo Rosadi and are confident you’ll enjoy this unspoilt area of Tuscany.

What our guests say

Nigel Armstrong, Isle of Arran

Just a short note to thank you and your colleagues at Essential Italy for the seamless and very successful arrangements for our trip to Palazzo Rosadi. The ten if us - Scots, English and American - all thoroughly enjoyed its facilities, location and the help on-site of Rosado and his team: a stunning setting to further cement over forty years of friendship. September 2019

This villa is stunning with a beautiful garden maintained to the highest standard daily with unbelievable plant aromas attacking your senses. All bedrooms are spacious and stylishly decorated with excellent en-suite bathroom facilities and the whole villa is a truly authentic Tuscan experience. Rosado, whose family have owned the villa for many years, is a real gentleman being extremely friendly and helpful providing a number of gratis gifts eg eggs from his own hens-delicious and I really enjoyed learning about the area etc. from him. The separate pool facilities were ideally located and perfect for both sunbathing and swimming, plus I could also find a quiet place in the garden with a fantastic view over the Tuscan vista if quiet time was needed. A car is a must as the hill to the villa is lengthy, steep and not easy on the legs particularly after enjoying a meal and wine and some excellent local restaurants. A real Italian gem in a wonderful area. June 2019

Fantastic Villa that was in superb condition and owned by a lovely family who met us and made us feel so welcome. The local supermarket in Monterchi was run by the nicest family who again made us feel very welcome. We would love to visit the Villa and region again if we can. 5 ⭐️
