About Fattoria San Martino

Fattoria San Martino is truly unique. The owners – Antonio and Karin – have converted this lovely house with careful attention to detail. The whole environment is eco-friendly – the beds you sleep on, the food you eat, the hot water, the paint on the walls... The location (just 1 kilometre from the walls of Montepulciano) is superb, the whole of southern Tuscany is on your doorstep.

There are 4 rooms in total – all have views over the surrounding countryside, two are on the first floor and two on the second. Three of the rooms are very spacious, the fourth – in the main house – more a standard room (if there is such a thing at Fattoria San Martino!). In recent years the owners added two more rooms in the house opposite the main house. They have a ground floor entrance and bathroom, the bedrooms are on the first floor, these are available upon request. The interior decor is simple – wood, stone and natural fibres are used. All bathrooms have a shower.

In front of the main house there is the dining room with a terrace – in the summer months, breakfast is served under the olives, overlooked by Montepulciano on the hilltop. The chef – Davide – prepares wonderful local food for both lunch and dinner. Lunch can be booked on a daily basis: €20–€30 per head depending upon the menu, dinner is also served daily at €35 per head.

The pool is surrounded by fresh-water plants, no chemicals are used.

We had a truly blissful stay in the genuinely stunning Fattoria San Martino. Everything about it was so perfect, almost dreamlike, that it felt like stepping into a film set. Jaw dropping views, very beautiful pool and gardens, deeply delicious food and enchanting hosting by Karin and her daughter-in-law Ananda. Everything shone with the love and attention they so clearly lavished on it. In addition to some deeply relaxing yoga classes, we did an uplifting and creative clay workshop and learnt how to make some wonderful pasta dishes. Highly recommended to anyone looking for real relaxation, comfort, style and a unique, highly personalised holiday. May 2025
