La Vecchia Sassa is located in the glorious Tuscan countryside at the foot of the ancient hamlet of Iano – just a few minutes walk away. The peaceful setting guarantees your stay to be relaxing and peaceful making you wonder if you will ever go back to city life! At 350 metres above sea level, La Vecchia Sassa dominates the valley which was once known as the ‘Grain store of the Etruscans’.
The original building dates back to the 1600s and has been brought back to life with sympathetic restoration work and simple Tuscan furnishings taking great care to respect the antique building traditions of the area.
The 8 apartments are all slightly different in size and furnishings but are all elegant and comfortable in their design. Striped fabrics and pastel colours compliment the stone walls and beautiful antique furniture perfectly. Each apartment has its own private entrance, Sat TV, safe and all are equipped with good working kitchens with oven, hob and fridge/freezer, dishwasher Heating (and air conditioning only in Terrazza) can be found throughout (payable locally) and all apartments are light and airy with access to the gardens and their own al-fresco eating area.

The gardens are beautifully kept and the pool is surrounded by 100-year-old oak trees, perfumed flowering shrubs and well kept grassy lawns. There is plenty of space to sit both in the warm Tuscan sunshine and the cool shade and while away the time with a glass of chilled local wine and your book. For the more energetic, there is a wealth of cultural towns and sites virtually on the doorstep of La Vecchia Sassa so there are no excuses not to do a little sight-seeing during your stay!
