About La Torretta

This original Sardinian villa in beautiful Porto Rafael boasts a glorious setting with huge terrace overlooking the bay of Palau and across to La Maddalena.

In a spectacular position, La Torretta is one of the original Porto Rafael villas, named after its unique round shape. With a huge terrace overlooking the bay of Palau and across to the Archipelago of La Maddalena, it is tempting not to set foot outside this idyllic setting and simply relish the ever-changing sea views and passing super-yachts whilst sipping a glass (or two) of local wine. Should supplies run low its comforting to know there's a small supermarket just a 3-minute stroll away, along with a couple of bars for an early morning cappuccino with fresh cakes, or a cool beer at any time of the day. If you are able to tear yourselves away from all of this, there is some spectacular coastline to explore and the town of Palau is a 10-minute drive away with many more shops, bars and restaurants to enjoy.

The villa is simply furnished for summer living. On the ground level is a comfortable sitting/dining room opening out onto the wonderful, large terrace along with a twin bedroom and cloakroom with basin and WC plus an outside shower that is hidden in the rocks which might be a bit chilly in low season, and a small separate kitchen with gas hob, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. The staircase from the lounge area leads to the double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and balcony with fabulous views. The third twin bedroom is accessed by an independent entrance from the terrace and is complete with a small ensuite shower room, great for teenagers or a couple wanting a little more privacy.

The superb terrace overlooking the wonderfully vibrant, blue sea has a covered and furnished veranda from where you can enjoy the amazing views. The terrace offers plenty of space for sunbathing along with a super covered area with built-in barbecue perfect for alfresco dining at all times of the day. A path through the garden links the villa with the beach below allowing an early morning swim or laze on the beach whenever the mood takes you.

We highly recommend this villa for its position, unique charm, super big terrace and spectacular views.

Fabulous holiday at La Torretta on Porto Rafael, which has wonderful views over the bay. The private path to take us down to the piazza and beach was great, and used every day of our stay. The villa terrace always had a spot of shade throughout the day, and the air con in the bedrooms a necessity as it was particularly hot the week we were there. La Torretta is an amazing two storey villa, private and with fantastic views across the sea to Maddalena from the master bedroom and the terrace below.To the left is the Yacht Club and hours can be spent just watching the boats sail and/or motor by.. From the huge terrace there are private steps down to the sea for that early morning dip and to the piazzetta for a cool drink and snack and more if required. The villa is one of the original ones built in Porto Rafael and is full of charm. It has everything you would need like washing machine, dishwasher, Satellite TV and Wi-Fi - September 2024

La Torretta has possibly the best position in Santa Rafael, with the most stunning frontline views of the beautiful bay. We cannot recommend the villa and location highly enough, it was simply beautiful and had everything we needed right on the doorstep. The beach was nicer than the pictures and very pretty. Both Myriam and Sarah were lovely, very welcoming and always willing to help and give advice when necessary. We will be returning next year and can highly recommend Essential Italy who were exceptional in every respect.
