Casa Wasa

We had a fabulous holiday and hope to visit Porto Rafael again (lots). A little gripe that you can't really use the little bedroom in Casa Wasa in hot weather as it is too hot without Airco. The information online about opening times for the shop in Porto Rafael is incorrect - it is shut on Sundays. Still a 5* holiday! July 2025

The location of the properties is simply perfect as was the help from Francesca and Sarah in Sardinia . The houses are simply furnished but well equipped which makes for a comfortable stay . We had everything we needed and more for a blissful stay in Porto rafael . My only suggestion would be to upgrade some of the towels in the house which are a bit old now but that's a minor point ! Brilliant all round and we will be back July 2024

Absolutely love this place, our second stay in Casa Wasa, but it would definitely benefit from some updating. The courtyard in particular needs work. Otherwise, a wonderful time was had by all! July 2024

Casa Wasa is lovely. Sarah is also lovely, as usual. We return each year. However Casa Wasa is slightly let down by the bathrooms. The floors flood when you take a shower in all 3 bathrooms and there are no hooks on the doors to hang towels or bathrobes. Apart from that it is lovely. June 2019

Sarah is truly amazing, perfect balance of totally helpful and understanding clients needs.

Booking process was friendly, clear and straightforward. Villa was spacious, very tastefully furnished and very clean although showing a few signs of wear and tear in places. The kitchen was well equipped, and functioned without any problems. There was plenty of hot water. We particularly enjoyed the big sunny terrace and access to swimming and kayaking from the private jetty just below the terrace. The views across to La Maddalena and the other islands were beautiful, the villa was pleasantly secluded, although very close to the centre of Porto Raphael. Miriam was a delight – very intelligent, friendly, charming and helpful. We loved the boat trip she organised for us.

Perfect! Private, beautiful views, not too far from nightlife should you wish to partake. Love the jetty & kayaks too! Porto Rafael is a lovely community & Palau the perfect size for holiday needs. With the Maddalenas, Corsica & Arzachena (archaeological sites) all on the doorstep and several mainland beaches also only a short drive away, it all adds up to perfection! All in all we have had a fabulous stay at Casa Wasa and will be rebooking with you again next year! Thank you!

A stunning location, great sea views and independent access to the sea. Also, very conveniently located, just a stone's throw from a couple of bars and a supermarket. We were very well looked after in Porto Rafael. Both Sarah and Miriam were very welcoming and attentive, and really helped to make our holiday a very memorable one. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Essential Italy to friends and family. At every stage, we felt very well looked after and the accommodation and surrounding area were wonderful. We look forward to our next trip with Essential Italy!

After we have had the pleasure of getting to know eight different houses in Porto Rafael which were all extremely beautiful and very unique, this year we fell in love with Casa Wasa. This is the most beautiful spot we have ever been to. A maximum of privacy, excellent location, private access to the sea and architecture at its best. We didn't leave the house the whole day (except for the obligatory coffee at Harry's of course) until dinner because it was just so relaxing. There is a special spirit over this great little spot which we got in touch with for the first time this year. Very special people and a great history. Certainly coming back as soon as possible.
