Located on the edge of the National Marine Park of La Maddalena, the 5-star Hotel Valle dell’Erica holds a perfect position with superb views in all directions and some of the most spectacular sandy beaches to be found in the area. This stunning resort has been reconstructed on the original site of the very first holiday village ever built in Sardinia back in 1958. The village was wildly popular with a very affluent clientele – kings, princes and nobility were often on the guest list and once you have visited this little bit of paradise, you can see why!
The 226 ground and first-floor bedrooms are set amongst the natural vegetation and are carefully positioned so that access to the lovely white sandy beach is never more than 200m. There is a great choice of accommodation ranging from standard rooms to suites. True Sardinian style furnishings and fittings abound and all rooms have a covered veranda with 2 deck chairs (or table and 2 chairs), en-suite bathroom with hairdryer, air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, safe, and mini-bar. For real relaxation, you may also book one of the 6 stupendous ‘wellness centre rooms’ – specially designed with relaxation in mind and with direct access to the Thalassotherapy centre.
Four super pools invite you to take a dip at any time of the day without ever losing the fabulous sea view. There are 3 pools for the use of all guests including a children's pool and one for adults only.
The Thalasso and Spa Centre "Le Thermae" is a great place to relax and encounter some real pampering. Set amidst the impressive granite rocks that Sardinia is famous for, the centre consists of 4 multi-function sea water pools which are heated to different temperatures for the thalassotherapy circuit and if this is not enough, there is a huge choice of further beauty treatments, massages and exercise classes that you may select at your leisure.
Dining at Valle dell’Erica is a wonderful experience and you will find a choice of restaurants. Nautilus and/or Les Bouches are where breakfast is served on the fabulous terraces in the morning along with some spectacular show cooking in the evening. Guests may enjoy candlelit dinners in Il Grecale (reservation required) or at the lovely La Prua (reservation required plus supplement payable locally). At Li Ciusoni authentic Sardinian fare is served including traditional dishes made with local products (reservation required plus supplement payable locally) and there is also a super beach grill, Li Zini, that offers a wonderful selection of mouth-watering shellfish and locally caught fish, cooked on the barbeque (subject to weather, reservation required and supplement payable locally).

For older children between 10 - 13 years there is a range of organised activities including snorkelling, canoing, five-a-side football pitch, golf school, volley ball, the "adventure day" - an unforgettable canoe excursion discovering uninhabited stretches of coastline, "Robinson Crusoe" day with photographic safari and lunch on the beach. Complimentary Nintendo Wii, Play Station and X-Box may be used at any time.
Apart from the great play area, there is a restaurant serving lunch for your children with entertainers keeping them laughing throughout (supplement applicable if not on full board).
A nursery is open 24 hours a day for the tiniest of guests and this offers changing, bottle warming and sterilising facilities plus pushchairs, highchairs and a selection of baby foods.
The hotel offers pitch and putt golf, organised walks and relaxation techniques – other sporting activities, such as sailing, windsurfing, diving and horse riding may be booked through the hotel.
Valle dell’Erica prefers to use an electronic card for all cash payments during your stay – this will be issued to you on arrival and you may credit any amount onto it at any time during your holiday. This makes life a lot easier as you have no need to carry cash around with you whilst swimming, sunbathing or walking along the super sandy beach.

Comfortable and clean and great size, lovely view and hammock was the perfect touch… We really liked the fact that staff always greeted you as they passed by and were genuinely friendly and happy! Reception staff were very helpful and although we saw some reviews about their English not being great we didn't see any evidence of that! A really lovely holiday. We especially enjoyed the live music which was a lovely surprise as we hadn't been expecting.
