This super family-run hotel is a real find and a must if you're touring the area perfect for both short and long stays. Unlike many hotels in the area, Cala Luna has contemporary furnishings, clean architectural lines and some wonderful modern art making it really a pleasure to stay in.
Sitting in the heart of the village on the road that overlooks the fantastic Cala Gonone coastline with its famous caves and grottoes, the hotel boasts a chic indoor bar and restaurant. Should you choose to dine alfresco, you’ll find a lovely cool, shaded area just outside the main doors and on the seafront, where you can while away the hours with a bottle of Vermentino, a plate of grilled seafood and the view stretching out on either side of you.
The 27 standard rooms continue the same chic and modern theme you find throughout the hotel. Prices vary according to the view and number of beds, and all rooms are comfortably equipped with air-conditioning, safe, minibar, internet access, TV and hairdryer. The seafront and side rooms have balconies with fantastic views across the open sea and along the pretty coast, making it a pleasure to get out of bed in the morning.

A word of warning, however, Cala Gonone gets very busy with Italian holidaymakers from mid-July to the end of August so to get the best from the area, we suggest that travel outside these dates.

The hotel is a gem - there is far more to it than immediately meets the eye: the Sky Bar is a big plus and the hotel is clean and well-conceived throughout. The restaurant terrace is extremely pleasant and we enjoyed a nice meal there. The breakfast buffet is also good with plenty of choice, fruit and home made cakes. We can always have confidence that Essential Italy will propose villas and hotels which have that little bit extra which makes them special and memorable.
