Recently restored, beautiful family villa with unique pool and traditional features in fabulous rolling countryside just outside the hill top town of Cisternino.
Arrival day: Saturday Car hire: Recommended
The location of Trullo Casa Allegro is fabulous, in the rolling countryside just outside the hilltop town of Cisternino and within a short drive of many of the best sights of the region. Recently restored the villa maintains many of the classic Pugliese features whilst updating to ensure a modern and comfortable family holiday villa. The owners have also had the forethought to add a wonderful pool which blends perfectly into the spacious garden and will for sure be a real hit with all of the family.
The property is made up of a three-coned Trulli and also a lamia, both typical of this area of Puglia.
The main feature of this charming property is the beautiful central courtyard from which you can access three bedrooms and the kitchen. The main entrance is into the living room which has a charming open fireplace. On the left, you find a second living area which could easily be used for extra beds should you require them. Further on, you enter into the kitchen with is well equipped with oven, hob and dishwasher. Of the main living room, there is a small alcove with an extra bed (with ensuite shower room). A small step takes you into the master bedroom with ensuite shower room. Off the kitchen, there is a utility room with a washing machine and small bathroom.
Beyond the master bedroom is a final bedroom in the main house which can be either a double or a twin bedroom with French windows onto the courtyard and a lovely ensuite bathroom. The final double bedroom is located just to the left of the kitchen courtyard windows and also has an ensuite bathroom (please note, this bedroom is accessed externally).
The central courtyard, with a fragrant lemon tree and pergola, is a very private area and will probably become the heart of your holiday, breakfast, lunch and dinner either here or under the covered ding area which is at the end of the main building with a barbecue that overlooks the pool.
The pool is about 15 metres from the main house and the surrounding garden has been carefully landscaped to give privacy to the pool area. The pool blends perfectly into this natural environment no bright blue pool liners here and there is a shelf area so that you can sit in the pool and still read your book or sip a glass of wine. The main area of the pool is ideal for swimming and there are also power jets to give yourself a massage. Beyond the pool, there is an old Trullo which has been restored but for now is where the owners make their tomato sauce (they are passionate organic smallholders and we are sure you will enjoy some of their products). They live in a lamia nearby and are at your disposal for any tips regarding your holiday.
Being so close to Cisternino is a bonus, the town has some great restaurants and shops. Also, there are many other towns to visit and enjoy nearby, such as Martina Franca, Alberobello, Ostuni and Locorotonda. The beaches are about a 30-minute drive away. Trullo Allegro is a great addition to our programme and we are sure that Essential Italy guests will enjoy the authentic feel and originality of this comfortable villa.

Perfect Villa, wonderful hosts who were very welcoming and helpful. Personalized cookery course which was hugely enjoyable. Everything from Essential Italy went smoothly and it felt like we had easy contacts should anything have gone wrong. Would highly recommend both Casa Allegra and Essential Italy to anyone.

We loved staying with friends and family at Trullo Casa Allegro. In particular we liked the novelty and unusual design of staying in a trulli house and the lovely natural-looking pool which we enjoyed nearly every day. We liked the proximity of the beautiful nearby towns of Cisternino and Martina Franca and that the beach was't too far away either. The owner of the villa lived next door and was incredibly helpful when we had some problems with our hire car and we were extremely grateful to him for helping us sort this out. ...thanks for a great holiday- we have used your services twice now and would use you again!
