This large, stylish two bedroom townhouse sits in the very centre of the Baroque town of Nardó the west side of the heel. The town has a good selection of shops, bars and a great array of restaurants on the doorstep.
The house has been recently restored by a local architect who has turned this 17th-century townhouse into a beautifully light and airy villa with a very tranquil feel to it.
On the ground floor, there is one double bedroom with two shower rooms and a large open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. The furnishings are a mixture of contemporary and classic with original floor tiles throughout the ground floor. There are generous windows on the garden side of the house offering a view over the pretty gardens and pool. The kitchen opens directly onto the pretty south facing walled gardens where there are two external dining areas and a small Jacuzzi pool.
The kitchen is well equipped with a 5-ring SMEG gas hob and extractor fan, sink, electric oven, SMEG fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Italian espresso coffee machine and toaster.
External steps from the garden area link to the second floor where there is another covered dining area offering fabulous views over the rooftops of Nardó. There is a second smaller kitchen (equipped with 3-ring electric hob and extractor fan, sink, Italian espresso machine, fridge/freezer, microwave oven) and a second double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Finally, there is a third terrace accessed by one more flight of external steps.
There is a third bedroom with ensuite shower room located to one side of the house - perfect for a couple, third adult child or nanny. Note the shower room is open to the bedroom with a wall dividing it from the bedroom, but no doors.
The garden is planted with citrus trees, shrubs and flowers which all add fragrance and a charming ambiance to the gardens.
Nardo is well placed to explore the southern part of Puglia with towns such as Gallipoli, Lecce and Galatina all within easy reach, and you will be safe in the knowledge that you can return to the calm and tranquil gardens to enjoy an aperitivo before heading to one of the local restaurants or simply rustling up a meal to enjoy on one of the terraces.

We had a wonderful time in Puglia. The house in Nardo was just perfect. The garden was enchanting and the interiors were elegant. It was so well planned and spacious and the layout was such that the four of us were afforded a lot of privacy. It was extremely well run and Peter was extremely helpful. It was close to a number of excellent beach clubs. The town was charming and not overrun by tourists. We hope to make a return visit next year.
