You may decide to stay put or explore some of this fascinating area of Southern Italy – for romantics, and those looking to stretch their legs, a 30-minute walk along the sandy beach will take you to pretty Torre San Giovanni. As you are on the west coast, prepare yourselves for some totally amazing sunsets where the red sun just drops into the water. Ugento is the nearest town and is full of history as it was a major Roman trading port, Santa Maria di Leuca is a short hop and the most southerly point in Italy and other beautiful towns such as Gallipoli, Otranto and Lecce are all easily reached.
The Vivosa Apulia Resort is eco-friendly (Best Eco Resort in Southern Europe at the World Luxury Hotel Awards), encircled by nature using natural and local materials throughout. The restaurants use as much fresh produce as possible, much of it grown in the gardens on-site with your health and well-being constantly at the top of the list. There are 333 elegant rooms spread around 10 different locations in the gardens all on two levels – the comfortable rooms all have balconies or terraces with garden view plus satellite TV, safe, air-conditioning, fridge and en-suite shower room.

Classic Family Room 2 communicating rooms (double and small twin) and 1 shower room, sleeping 2 adults and 2 children up to 11 years. Minimum occupancy 2 adults plus 1 child.
Superior Family Room 2 communicating rooms (double and twin) and 2 shower rooms, sleeping up to 4 adults plus 1 child up to 11 years. Minimum occupancy 2 adults plus 2 children or 1 extra adult.
Superior Plus family room 3 communicating rooms (double and 2 twins) and 2 shower rooms, sleeping up to 6 adults. Minimum occupancy 2 adults plus 2 children or 1 extra adult.
The pool area at Vivosa Apulia Resort is superb with a choice of 4 pools – one a hydromassage pool with submerged loungers and a great children's pool with slides. There are many sun loungers scattered around and grassy relaxation areas to enjoy permitting you to find peace and quiet at any time of day. A path leads through the shady pine trees down to the spectacular sandy beach, just 400 metres away, where you may enjoy some great swimming in the clear blue water, perfect your sand castle technique or just laze on a sunbed under an umbrella and gaze at the horizon. A decked beach bar is open all day should you need a cool drink or light snack.
There are two restaurants to enjoy at Vivosa Apulia Resort – Via Appia is the main restaurant and offers a rich and varying buffet at breakfast, lunch and dinner. A Puteca, open only for dinner, offers elegant table service and an a la carte menu and this needs to be booked locally and has a supplement applicable. The VOS - Vivosa Organic Spa (Best Italian Spa and Best Luxury Spa Awards) - offers a heated pool and the Vivosa Fitness Crew (a dedicated team of experts) are available for a selection of treatments, massages and daily classes including spinning hiit fit, yoga and meditation.
Vivosa experiences may also be booked - these are tailor-made tours to visit the fascinating area of Il Salento by land or by sea.

Vivosa is built within a protected nature park - the maximum distance of the rooms to the service area is 300m, from the service area to beach 400m. There is no shuttle service provided from/to beach or from/to rooms.
Due to the location and natural type of stone used for the construction of the hotel, a high rate of humidity may be experienced during your stay.
Entrance on day of arrival is permitted from 16.00 - charges may be incurred for earlier arrivals.

Gluten-free food: the hotel cannot prepare gluten-free meals but has a selection of ready-made items and dishes that are individually packed which may be heated in ovens in the restaurants.
Umbrellas and sun-beds on the beach and by the pool cannot be reserved and personal items left on them may be removed by the relevant staff.

Vivosa was a wonderful resort with fantastic kids club and great and varied food offering in a beautiful, natural location. Rooms could do with some upgrade and the fact that with one child only a certain room category was available felt a bit restrictive - it meant we basically had no balcony or terrace to enjoy a glass of wine once our 7 year old went to bed. Overall a fantastic trip, can not compliment the kids club and activities or the food highly enough. Super pool and beach areas also. July 2023

A fabulous holiday at Vivosa resort. Really wonderful people there and great service. We really enjoyed spending time at the resort, the facilities were great especially the pools and beach. The food was exceptional throughout our stay. Really great service by Essential Italy, our second holiday with you and we will be back I am sure. August 2022
