Beautiful B&B with nine elegant and comfortable rooms, set in pretty, tranquil grounds with super pool amidst lovely countryside between Lecce and Martano.
Arrival day: Any Car hire: Recommended
The Naturalis Resort is a real gem, tucked away in the lovely countryside between Lecce and the sleepy southern Italian town of Martano. Surrounded by pretty grounds, this magnificent farmhouse has been transformed into a super B&B with 12 elegant rooms and a truly glorious swimming pool. Naturalis is also referred to as the Relais di Silence as the only noise you may here is the breeze blowing through the fields, grasshoppers and birds.
As soon as you enter the grounds you are aware that you have arrived at a rather special place. The reception room is a very welcoming large room filled with comfy sofas and some lovely antique furniture. In the cooler months breakfast is served here and once the temperatures begin to rise, tables are set up on the terrace overlooking the grassy gardens full of aromatic plants with rich colours and sensual scents.
The 7 rooms are charmingly furnished in true Salento style with pastel shades, polished wooden furniture, terracotta floors and lots of charming small details. The spacious en-suite bathrooms are decorated with beautiful old local tiles and all have soothing chromotherapy showers. Each room is themed to one of the local plants or trees growing in the gardens and all have a small furnished outside terrace.
The pretty infinity pool sits in the gardens surrounded by grassy lawns and a terrace with gazebos and sun-loungers. A shady area with bar and outdoor kitchen provides the perfect spot for a cool glass of wine or a light lunch using fresh products from the kitchen garden.
Dinner is served on request on the terrace under the stars with some delicious local dishes prepared in the farmhouse kitchen all carefully put together to ensure you enjoy the best and freshest ingredients possible accompanied by some very good Pugliese wines.
Lavender and aloe are grown by the charming owner who makes some excellent skin-care creams and potions that are used in the delightful spa where you will find a small heated pool, Turkish bath and shower. There is a great selection of treatments on offer all based exclusively on the 4 most important elements for the skin: olive oil, wine, wheat and aloe.
This little oasis is located close to Martano where you will find some shops, a few bars, a couple of restaurants and a town square often with a small market. Should you wish to leave the confines of the resort, you can easily reach the fascinating towns of Lecce, Otranto and Gallipoli and both the Ionian and Adriatic coastlines.
We guarantee that you will have the most wonderful stay at Naturalis Resort and you will leave with a wonderful sense of wellbeing.
Minimum stay of 3 nights (7 nights: 08/08–28/08). One complimentary entrance to the spa to use Hammam, thermal pool and shower. Suite Superior has a communicating double room on request.
