Pezze di Greco, Puglia
Stunning masseria immersed in spectacular countryside, completely restored with style and flair throughout while maintaining the wonderful character and charm.
Arrival day: Any Car hire: Recommended
Immersed in the spectacular countryside outside the small town of Pezze di Greco, this typical farmhouse has been completely restored while maintaining the wonderful character and charm of the original building.
The entrance takes you through some truly impressive gates and along a long driveway which immediately gives you a taste of what is to come at Montenapoleone. The five acres of land are full of a superb mix of palms, olives, citrus groves, almond trees, cacti, flowering bushes, rosemary and vines the typical vegetation of this pretty area. Stone walls define the property boundary and the imposing Masseria stands proudly amidst the beautiful natural environment.
The Masseria’s rustic charm remains intact, and the chic but simple style enhances the charm of this lovely property. The super staff with Giuliano the owner ever-present will ensure you have an amazing stay, and their recommendations for beaches, towns and restaurants will keep you busy when you eventually venture out of the gates. However, we wouldn't be surprised if you choose to stay within the confines of this wonderful estate for your stay.
The 15 rooms are dotted around the main part of the Masseria and each has been decorated differently with beautiful stone floors interspersed with local antique tiles, exposed stone walls, rustic furniture and a really eclectic (and often highly imaginative) assortment of interesting bits-and-pieces from the family collection. You may well leave Masseria Montenapoleone on a mission to check out your shed or attic to see what you may be able to turn into chic lamp shades or amazing wall hangings! Of course, TV, heating, air-conditioning, small fridge and ensuite shower rooms are common to all the accommodation. Breakfast is served in a delightful dining room with its own small lounge area, or outside on the pretty terrace in the morning sunshine.
The gardens are fabulous. They are lovingly tended but stylishly unkempt with great terraces dotted around for relaxing in the sun or under a shady fig tree. You may choose to wander around the estate, and take in all the wonderful plants and fragrances, or use one of the Masseria’s bikes to get around. The magnificent pool sits on a raised terrace with fantastic views across the top of the silvery olive trees and on to the blue Adriatic sea, the position could not be bettered. Drinks and snacks are served all day at the pool-bar and glassed dining area, along with informal lunches at the heavy old wooden tables. Dinner is served twice a week in the restaurant.
Masseria Montenapoleone is very conscious of keeping an eye on the environment and uses exclusively its own freshly grown produce, home-baked cakes and bread plus home-made pasta at all mealtimes. A fully equipped country kitchen with dining table is at your disposal, and you are welcome to pick fresh tomatoes and other seasonal vegetables or fruits from the gardens should you wish to rustle up a light lunch for yourself at any time.
With the sea just a few minutes drive away and many of the famous and beautiful towns of the Valle dItria close by, Masseria Montenapoleone offers fabulous accommodation that we know you will enjoy.

A wonderful hotel, beautiful setting, great food and drink, magnificent pool and excellent staff who all help make for a fantastic holiday and provide an excellent base to sample the Puglia region. Again, I cannot praise the staff enough for their care and attention in providing a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and perfect way to escape into the flavour of this region of Italy. July 2019

Masseria Montenapoleone is all it’s cracked up to be. We loved every single aspect of our time there – from the location, to the gorgeous gates, grounds, animals – to the rooms, hospitality and lovely Christmas lunch.

Cannot fault the quality of the hotel. It was very true to its website description and website photographs. Very peaceful and quiet. Cannot praise everyone at the hotel enough. All staff were attentive, helpful and happy! You really felt that nothing was too much trouble. Once again I have had a very positive holiday experience. Thank you.

Elegant, stylish and bountiful interiors & exteriors and the most helpful and friendly of staff. Very good for beaches and the hilltop towns.

Excellent, very clean with quirky fixtures and fittings. Brilliant pool and breakfast areas. Ideal for touring the Puglia area. We loved the fact that the owners had dinner with the guests and were always available for suggestions on places to visit and restaurant recommendations. We would have liked dinner every night at Masseria Montenapoleone.

Go and stay at the Masseria Montenapoleone. Giuliano, Christina, Dino, Jiacomo and their wonderful staff will look after you very well in this beautiful masseria. The pool is the best in which we have ever swum and the food is excellent. Nothing was ever too much trouble. You will have a great time.
