Description

If you are looking for a secluded hideaway, in a glorious countryside setting with pretty gardens and private pool, Casa Cristina is perfect. Suited to both romantic couples and young families alike, the house is found 3 kilometres from the town of Arzachena, and approximately 10 kilometres from the nearest stretch of beautiful coastline with sandy beaches.

Accessed by a private driveway, this charming little house is a real gem with a large covered veranda that overlooks the grassy gardens and sparkling pool. Geared for outdoor living, the veranda is furnished with a rustic wooden dining table and good-sized barbecue for some tasty grills of fish, meat and seasonal vegetables.

The main door leads into the country-style kitchen and lounge area. The kitchen runs the length of the back wall and has been tastefully furnished in keeping with the rustic yet chic character of the property, equipped with a gas hob, full-size oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and toaster. A comfy sofa is positioned in front of the fireplace with satellite TV providing a relaxing corner to escape the midday heat.

Leading from the lounge is a small twin bedroom with window looking out onto the veranda, a small shower room and WC, and a contemporary double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, home to a surprising grotto-style shower. The thoughtful owners have put a lot of love into their house, and we know it will be enjoyed by any lucky guests who stay here.

A little grassy lawn divides the veranda from the pool with five steps leading down to the paved pool edge. Wooden sunbeds are dotted around making it the perfect place to soak up some hot Sardinian sun before slipping into the cool pool for a refreshing dip, with a splendid countryside panorama all around.

With a perfect night sky to do some serious stargazing after a tasty barbecue, we are sure guests will not leave Casa Cristina willingly (perhaps only to stock-up with food and wine!).

What our guests say

Sally Wolstencroft, Lancashire

We had a fabulous holiday at Casa Cristina. I would particularly like to commend the care we received from Sarah, who has excellent knowledge of the area and was helpful in every way. The owners were great too. Photos didn't do the villa justice. July 2019

Bill Boyd, East Sussex

We had an amazing time and will definitely be coming back to Sardinia! Sarah took excellent care of us throughout. June 2019

Charlotte Peterson, London

Casa Cristina was wonderful – just perfect. Gorgeous setting, peaceful and spacious and very nicely furnished. Felt like a real treat to be staying there. Extremely clean too. Very accessible to San Pantaleo and all the beaches we know and love on the Costa Smeralda. Sarah was very helpful with the one or two queries we had and kindly booked a very good Agriturismo for us one night which we all enjoyed – a great recommendation.

William Bush, UK

The Villa is Immaculate, clean tidy and very well planned. The outside Pool area and master bedroom are amazing. For me the location is perfect, only 10 minutes from the nearest town with a good range of shops... it is away from the crowds with just a couple of neighbours tucked behind the villa... Sarah was amazing... she arranged the Boat trip which was a holiday highlight, met us at the Harbour and introduced us to the crew which i thought was a lovely touch, she really seemed to care that we had a amazing Holiday. Thank you for helping us have a totally relaxing Holiday.

Rosina Maitra, Llanymynech

Excellent, exactly as described. Sarah was lovely and very helpful. We loved every aspect of our holiday. Everything was as it should have been regarding Essential Italy. Will be booking again with this company for next year.

Paul Crisp, Northumberland

Lovely. Out of the way but not isolated. Rural idyll. Sarah did a very professional job and was great fun too - we didn't need any help really but we knew it was available. You have a good business and great staff. Thanks for a lovely week.

Hugh Collingwood, London

Casa Cristina is a holiday hideaway for hedonistic hermits, a stylish little patch of privacy in the arid farmland of north Sardinia. The loudest sounds are the occasional mutter of a tractor, the distant grunt of a contented pig and, most of all, a coloratura of birdsong – the blackbirds all trained at La Scala. The view from this oasis, across the hot scrubland and beyond a field of corn, is of a jaw of jagged granite peaks, steely at dawn and copper at dusk. The style comes from the owner’s own imaginatively crafted wrought ironwork, beginning with a magnificent pair of electric gates, the stateliest gates ever to open off an unmade road. Wrought iron branches decorate a wall sheltering the swimming pool, which is attractively inlaid into a terrace of terra cotta brick. And all this within a short drive of the village of Arzachena where there are such essentials as ice cream, cappuccino, a supermarket and ATM. But Cristina is above all a home, quiet, cool and as comprehensively equipped as a show house, from kitchen gadgetry to a boules set; from air con, wifi and a barbecue to TV, DVD and a whirlpool tub in a Gaudiesque bathroom. Leaving was a bit like breaking up.
