Villa La Sarra
Villa La Sarra sits in a truly unique location on the top of a hill with a 360 degree view of hills, mountains and sea. If you are looking for complete rest, tranquillity and natural Sardinian setting, this very special accommodation is the place to go.
Just a 5 minute drive from the seaside town of Cannigione, Villa La Sarra is accessed via a long, winding and rather bumpy track – but we assure, it’s worth it – you’ll be thrilled when you reach your destination. Once you’ve stocked-up your kitchen and fridge, you may find it very hard to leave.
The property is modern but built in the style of a traditional Sardinian farmhouse, in total keeping with its magnificent rural surroundings. The gardens and terraces are beautifully maintained, the mix of indigenous plants and bushes – geraniums, cacti and a wealth of pots full of carefully nurtured blooms – is just perfect.
The villa has a lovely shady terrace with a large dining table and chairs looking out towards the sea, and including grand vistas stretching from the Tavolara island south of Olbia to the archipelago of La Maddalena on the northern tip of Sardinia. The main entrance takes you into the light, airy and spacious lounge, beautifully furnished with comfortable sofas, rugs and a host of stunning paintings to study on the walls – both the owners are distinguished artists, and their style in impeccable throughout the property. The open-plan kitchen provides a delightful area to try your hand at preparing some fresh, local produce to enjoy alfresco on the terrace – a gas barbecue also sits on the terrace, useful should you not be able to tear yourself away from the magnificent panorama whilst cooking.
Leading from the lounge is an open-plan study area and a double bedroom with a small double bed, a separate shower room plus a further double bedroom with ensuite shower room.
A staircase leads from the lounge down to the lower level where there is a super bedroom with its own shower room, cooking facilities (4 ring hob, fridge-freezer) and lovely private terrace looking out over the hills.
The property faces south-east, making sunrise a spectacular moment for early risers, the sun literally rises out of the sea – sunset from the terrace at the back of the villa is another moment not to miss.
The gardens are home to the lovely swimming pool, long and narrow and surrounded by an extensive area with sun beds, perfect for gazing out over the mountains and taking in the fragrant garden air.
The quality of the property is outstanding and we’re sure once you have stayed here, you may well be back again and again.
