La Foresteria is located amidst vineyards and olive groves that stretch down to the shimmering sea at Menfi. This stunning area is famous for its fantastic archaeological sites and beautiful nature reserves - La Foresteria offers you the possibility of some super days out or simply revelling in the views and enjoying the comfort and charm of this elegant little haven of peace.
The contemporary feel at La Foresteria is carefully mixed with bright colours and warm woods giving a great feeling of being in a private home. Traditional blue and yellow ceramics from nearby Burgio and Caltagirone along with antique furniture make the hotel more than inviting internally and outside there are hundreds of herbs and spices planted in the gardens giving the most wonderful perfume at all times of day and night. You may choose just to sit and gaze at the fantastic landscape and not move from this idyllic spot.
Beautifully decorated and wonderfully spacious, the 14 bedrooms are all completely different in their design. Warm Mediterranean colours interspersed with pastel tints make them a treat to stay in and all but one has their own private terrace so that the views are always present as is the ever present scent from the herb gardens. Common to all rooms are heating and air conditioning, minibar, wifi, satellite TV, iPod dock speakers, tea and coffee making facilities, safe and hairdrier. The ensuite bathrooms are modern and tiled with the beautiful local ceramics – some have showers and some have baths.
The inviting pool sits to the side of the hotel and is surrounded by natural wooden decking along with plenty of sunbeds where you may doze, daydream, read your book, sip some wine or simply chat to fellow guests. The large glass conservatory overlooking the pool is the ideal space to escape the heat and continue to chill in perfect surroundings. Should you wish for a little exercise, there are bikes for exploring the countryside, a small gym and Turkish bath.
Eating at La Foresteria is a true experience with typical Sicilian hospitality – tasty local fare is prepared daily and accompanied by an exceptional list of wines – some make at La Foresteria and some coming from further afield. Wine tastings are a common event here and you will be surprised at the different flavoured wines that the island produces. Should you wish to try your hand in the kitchen, cookery lessons are easily arranged – learn the art of how the Sicilian chef mixes flavours, textures and colours. You will amaze your friends on your return home with some super new dishes!
With such wonderful hospitality on tap, we are not sure that you will venture much further than the confines of this super accommodation. Should you leave it to discover some of the breathtaking scenery and sites on offer locally we know that you will be more than happy to return to this oasis of calm at the end of the day.
