Baglio della Luna Agrigento

With the main veranda overlooking the impressive Valley of the Temples, Baglio della Luna boasts a truly magical position in Agrigento. This small and very friendly hotel was originally a castle and has been carefully restored around the original courtyards and watchtowers creating a super atmosphere. The immaculately kept gardens are a pleasure to wander through with never-ending blooms and luxuriant greenery to admire.

On entering the hotel, you will feel at home immediately – there are plenty of communal spaces furnished with comfortable wicker sofas both inside and out where you may simply relax with your guide book or a glass of chilled wine. Where ever you choose to sit you can be sure of a super view at all times.

The comfortable rooms at Baglio della Luna are spread out on the ground and first floor with one actually located in the ancient 12th century watchtower. The classic Sicilian style runs throughout the hotel with a mix of antique and modern furniture, superb local stone floors, exposed beams and polished woods plus some beautiful rich coloured fabrics and furnishings. The 23 rooms range from classics to suites and are all completely different in their design but all standardly equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, WI-FI, en-suite bath or shower room, minibar and hairdrier. Some of the rooms are actually in the guesthouse – a building that dates back to 1555!

The spectacular Valley of the Temples must be visited as you are a stone’s throw away but should you need to cool down after some site-seeing then you may choose between the large Jacuzzi located in the gardens or the sandy beach and shimmering sea which is just 800 metres away.

The restaurant “Il Dehors” is a great place to sample some local fare along with some very drinkable Sicilian wine – well known throughout the island and certainly worth dining here in the evening when the Valley of the Temples is illuminated providing a magnificent backdrop.

The Sicilian style, warm hospitality and great location make Baglio della Luna a real gem – we are sure that you will have a super stay.
