Description

Cambiocavallo is a delightfully small and chic hotel located in the beautiful countryside of the Noto Valley, just a few kilometres from the sparkling coast. Once a hostelry for travellers on horseback seeking accommodation, this boutique hotel has been carefully renovated both internally and externally making it a real haven in this glorious corner of Sicily.

The charming owner has used his professional architectural background in making Cambiocavallo a true experience for all his guests. His concept of ‘Sicilian Slow Living’ is evident from the moment you arrive with a mix of smells and sounds that recreate the wonderful local atmosphere. Though the hotel is contemporary in its design and decor, stressful modern life, as we know it, can be left behind for the entire duration of your stay at this great little hotel.

There are 20 comfortable bedrooms; all are furnished lovingly with simple good taste throughout. Pastel colours, beamed ceilings and crisp white cotton bed linen abound and all the ground floor rooms have a shady veranda looking out on to the pretty gardens or across to the lovely swimming pool and one of the suites has a lovely spacious terrace. WiFi, minibar, flat screen TV, safe, air conditioning/ heating, telephone and en-suite shower rooms are common to all and the suites have the addition of bathtubs.

The pool sits in the pretty gardens amidst palm, olive and citrus trees. Sunbeds and umbrellas are provided pool-side making it the perfect place to pass a couple of hours dozing and bathing in the glorious Sicilian sunshine.

A pretty breakfast room is home to some tasty morning fare with many freshly baked cakes, bread and homemade jams. The hotel also serves dinner on request – this must to be booked in advance at the hotel and much of the super fresh produce comes from the farm next door, including vegetables, cheese and olive oil.

The pretty beach of Santa Maria del Focallo, a long stretch of golden sand dotted with lidos (sun-beds, umbrellas and beach facilities) along with the smaller beach of Maganuco are just a short drive away as are some of the stunning Baroque towns including Noto, Modica, Scicli and Ibla.

Cambiocavallo is a super base to discover more of this beautiful area or simply take some days to relax and forget about the rest of the world – we are delighted to add it to our Sicilian portfolio.

What our guests say

Rose Driscoll, Cambridge

Lovely place would recommend... good clean comfortable... hotel felt homely on our return, spotlessly clean... couldn’t have been kinder, they were gems.
