The views from this south facing villa are truly spectacular, across to the Alpi Apuane national park to the west and the Apennines to the East. From the pool, the views are down the Serchio Valley and the town of Coreglia Antelminelli with shops, bars and restaurants is just a short walk away.
The villa is on three levels with the main entrance on the middle level. The front door leads into a corridor off which you will find a double room and a twin bedroom, these two rooms share a bathroom with bathtub.
Steps lead up to the third floor where there is a large double bedroom with a bathroom (bathtub with integral shower) and a single bedroom (with French bed). There is a second shower room on this level too.
From the middle floor, an internal spiral staircase leads down directly into the spacious living room which has a working stone fireplace. There is a pretty dining room and finally a small but well-equipped kitchen – double oven, fridge freezer, washing machine, five rings, microwave and dishwasher.
French doors lead from the living room directly out on the terrace which overlooks the pool to the views beyond. In the lounge there is a wood burning stove making this property very suitable for winter living. There is a covered patio with a dining table and chairs where you can further enjoy the views. Villa Serena has its own small garden but is also part of a private estate, set in ecologically managed gardens which has formal areas and woodland walks. Villa Serena is one wing of the original large villa and as such is attached to the neighbouring property.
You might find it hard to drag yourself from the view and pool, but the pretty town of Coreglia Antelminelli is just a short walk away where you’ll find restaurants, bars and shops. You are also within easy reach of Lucca, Pisa and Florence for day trips.

The accommodation was beautifully maintained and very clean on arrival. Maybe reference to the spiral staircase as wouldn't see these particularly suitable for elderly and toddlers etc. The location and scenic views were breathtaking. The villa is within good reach of local supermarkets and towns like Luca and Bargo. We also visited Pisa and Viareggio... We had an amazing time in the villa as very well equipped and in a wonderful peaceful location. The nearby town Coreglia Antelminelli was very enchanting having a no frills bar (Bar Roma) (enjoyed by the locals), and a bar/pizzeria which we also liked to regularly visit... We would definitely recommend Villa Serena to friends and family and hopefully return one day as will hold some very special and happy memories for all of us. Many thanks to the owners and team.

Villa Serena – it’s all in the name – is a serene and tranquil heaven; but not too far from the madding crowd. The beautiful farmhouse is set high in the hills with breath-taking views over two wooded valleys. The gardens, full of the sound of birdsong and splashing fountains, are classically planted and tended. Every view is a delight and gives you the feeling of peace and isolation although the neighbouring town is a short walk away. The traditional house is presented tastefully with comfortable furnishings and beautiful artefacts. It’s a cool retreat from the south-facing garden with sun-trap terrace and private swimming pool. If you’re looking for peace and relaxation, quite birdwatching or enjoyment of nature in its wildest sense, look no further. If you appreciate Italian gardens and beautiful scenes to sketch or paint, Villa Serena is for you.
