Masseria Le Pezzate is a wonderful retreat in a glorious setting, the perfect place to simply charge your batteries or to enjoy as a base for exploring the fabulous coastlines, towns and countryside of southern Puglia. The super owners Mario and Benedetta will make you feel totally welcome as soon as you enter the lovely gated courtyard, with nothing being too much trouble.
The simple but stylish renovated Masseria has a total of 7 bedrooms which are all part of the original farmhouse and located around the courtyard. They've been prettily furnished using local materials and offer a good level of comfort. The absence of modern day technology enhances Masseria Le Pezzate (who in their right mind would want to miss a minute of this villa for some Italian TV?). A large roof terrace looks out over the olive and fig groves towards the small town of Scorrano, and just outside the courtyard you'll find the shimmering swimming pool, perfect for cooling down after a day exploring the countryside, or for simply relaxing by with a book and a chilled glass (or two) of local white wine.
A large Italian kitchen is at your disposal for breakfasts and all other meals which may be enjoyed outside on the shady terrace and there is a cool sitting room for anyone wishing to take some peaceful time out during the hottest part of the day.
You will certainly feel like lords of the manner and may well be tempted to stay within the comfortable confines of the walls but the great location enables you to visit some of the beautiful places should you wish for an outing into the glorious countryside. Lecce, Gallipoli, Otranto, Santa Maria di Leuca are all within easy reach and you can choose to swim in both the Adriatic and Ionian Seas depending on whether you head east or west.
