Super Salentino Masseria with whitewashed walls, pretty pool, simply yet chic accommodation all immersed in olive groves and vinyards.
Arrival day: Saturday
This wonderful country house sits in a beautiful rural location surrounded by olive groves and vinyards. The typical dazzling white building is framed perfectly by the bright blue sky, the amazing red soil local to the area and the crafted stone walls, making it a haven of peace and quiet - a place to leave behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life and simply enjoy the soothing sounds of nature.
The masseria is all one level and has been divided up into 3 simple and stylish apartments – each with its’ own outside space. Charmingly furnished in total harmony with the 200 year-old building, you will find a selection of whitewashed wooden furniture, soft coloured curtains, pretty ceramics, some interesting metal tools on the walls and much more.
All three pretty apartments, with their vaulted ceilings, are well equipped with one bathroom, hair drier, air conditioning in the bedroom, kitchen with 4 ring gas hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, TV and DVD player. There is also a shared washing machine outside.
Mirto - one bedroom with double bed and a built-in single bed plus a single sofa bed in the living area.
Ginepro – one bedroom with double bed and open plan kitchen/dining area with 2 built-in single beds.
Rosmarino – one bedroom with double bed and open plan kitchen/dining area with built-in single bed. A folding bed can be added in the hallway.
Outside the covered terrace is home to a myriad of white voile curtains gently blowing in the wind creating a romantic atmosphere as well as creating some privacy. There is a grand choice of seating areas, some with sun loungers, some with chairs and tables and some under shady bamboo canopies by the inviting pool. A big barbeque is located in the gardens just a little way from the masseria where you may have fun grilling some of the delicious locally sourced meat, fish and seasonal vegetables.
The turreted flat, white roof has a little terrace perfect for enjoying some quiet moments in the sunshine or perhaps for enjoying some star-gazing in the non-polluted night sky, maybe with a glass of Primitivo! For the early risers, this would also be a magical place to watch the sun rise.
Masseria Scorcialupi is not luxurious but definitely very chic and would be a super location for a family get-together or for couples looking for the perfect hideaway for a week or two.
Please note that in July and August the masseria is available only with all 3 apartments rented together.
