Located in a great position between two of the most typical Pugliese towns, Ostuni and Martina Franca, Villa Margherita is a welcome addition to our accommodation in Puglia. Owned by Italians, the villa has a great feel of Mediterranean living with its fantastic outdoor area and spectacular swimming pool.

The house is actually in two parts – the lounge and kitchen are in the newer part of the building dating back to the lates 70’s. A comfortable sitting area with air conditioning, along with a large dining table, ensure that you may get out of the midsummer heat should you prefer. The small but comprehensive kitchen is equipped with gas hob, full sized oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and a further chest freezer (great for stocking up on arrival thus being able to spend more time by the pool!).

Accessed externally (approx. 10 metres from the door of the newer building), the older part of the house is the original trullo with its impressive coned roof. Very tastfeful refurbishment has taken place here and you will find beautiful exposed stone walls along with stylish but simple furnishings. There is 1 double bedroom and 2 twins bedrooms all with ensuite shower rooms. Air conditioning has not been installed in this part of the house as the original walls are so thick that the rooms remain cool even in the hottest months – a huge advantage along with all the windows that are fitted with mosquito nets – your nights promise to be nothing other than relaxing.

Perhaps the very best part of Villa Margherita is the superb raised outside area and  pool with spectacular views across the gently rolling hills of the Valle d’Itria. A huge stone table under a wooden pergola is the focal point for some fantastic al fresco eating which is easily prepared and cooked thanks to the great barbeque and outside sink. Another shady seating area around the pool is provided which will guarantee that you make the very best of the hot days and balmy evenings.

We strongly recommend Villa Margherita as an excellent family holiday home and great value for money. Even though there is some beautiful coastline just a 25 minute drive away, you may well find that you have trouble moving yourselves away from this idyllic setting.
