Essential Italy

Set in the tiny village of Trito, these recently converted ‘Trulli’ homes are a perfect solution for guests wishing to be free to enjoy the local sites, coast line and typical towns in the area. Centrally located and only 20 kms from the sea, the owners will make you more than welcome with their hospitality and attentiveness – Carole is originally from Wales so there is no language barrier and her husband, Mino, is a chef who will certainly be able to recommend some local dishes and/or restaurants to sample (and if you are really nice to him, he may even get the barbeque going...).

The 9 apartments are typical to the area – originally used as homes by the local people, these cone shaped dwellings have been transformed into super studio, one and two bedroom apartments, all with their own furnished terrace for reading, eating or simply enjoying a glass of wine at any time of day. The new pool is set a small distance from the accommodation and is fully equipped with sun-loungers – and for the more energetic, Carole and Mino are presently completing a new jogging trail around their property so there can be no excuses for not keeping fit!

All the apartments are simply furnished with light and airy colours and white washed walls (the ceilings often being the ‘cone’ part of the original building, so is very high). All the apartments have a fireplace, that may be used in the colder seasons, and the kitchenette comprises two gas rings (4 in the 2 bedroom apartments), fridge, electric kettle and toaster. The studios and one bedroom apartments offer double beds, and the 2 bedroom apartments have a double and a twin bedroom along with shower room. There is a communal laundry room where you may use the washing machine for a small charge (payable locally).

The lovely position, comfortable accommodation and the great hosts make this the ideal holiday location for those looking for something just off the beaten track. We are convinced that many of you will be back for a second helping!
