Essential Italy

This beautiful B&B is the perfect stop-over  for a night or two in the charming city of Lecce – often called the ‘Florence of Puglia’. Small, hugely stylish and extremely welcoming, we cannot find anything that betters this for comfort and price.

Set in the back streets of Lecce, parking is not a problem as you can find spaces just outside the walls of the city. The outside of the building does not give away the chic charm that you find as the door opens into a stylish covered courtyard.

The 8 rooms are dotted around – some on ground level and the others are reached by a stone staircase on the first and second floors – please note that there is not a lift so remember to ask us if you are not keen on a bit of a climb! The climb, however, is worth it regardless of where your room is as there is a great roof terrace with fantastic views across the city – a wonderful place to feel the late afternoon sun, enjoy some local wine or just sit and gaze into space!

All the rooms are decorated differently with a contemporary theme – the age old building has not been redesigned in any way so the rooms are all extremely spacious with high, and in some cases, vaulted ceilings and wonderful bathrooms. 

Walking out of the doors and heading towards the impressive cathedral, you are immediately surrounded by baroque architecture, narrow and winding streets brimming with history along with an amazing choice of bars, restaurants and shops. The town is big enough to keep you busy for at least a day but small enough to be able to explore all of it on foot or on one of the complimentary bicycles from Suite 68 (it is lovely and flat so easy pedalling!).

We cannot recommend this accommodation enough and suggest that you try your hardest to incorporate a stay here during your visit to Puglia.
