Trullo Lontano near Ostuni

Set on its own hilltop in the wonderful Pugliese countryside, with views across magnificent olive groves, Trullo Lontano is in a wonderful, secluded location for a peaceful holiday in Southern Italy. Recently restored, the owners have managed to keep the authenticity of this typical local country dwelling and at the same time, made it stylish and very comfortable.

The five conical roof tops are all home to a different room - entry into the cool property takes you into a small lounge area with a dining table for six people (there is also a DVD in this room should you choose to use the second lounge as a third bedroom) with the kitchen off to the left under the smallest cone - here you will find hob, fridge freezer and dishwasher plus electric kettle and toaster. The main double bedroom is accessed via the main entrance and is to the rear of the property. It has an en-suite shower room where you will also find the washing machine. A second twin or double bedroom is off to the right of the entrance hall with doors that open onto the terrace leading to the pool. There is a second shower room between the master bedroom and the twin/double room. A spacious lounge/third bedroom also opens out onto the pool and here there is double sofa bed. There is also DVD player in this room.

As at many properties in this area, the private pool and terraces are understandably perhaps the most used parts of the holiday home. Here at Trullo Lontano, the glorious pool invites you to cool down (and of course, do some lengths!!) at all times of the day. The covered dining table that over looks over the pool is a great place for long discussions over tasty grilled fare cooked on the barbeque and washed down with a bottle of Primitivo or Sqinzano. Lontano translates as 'far away' and although it's just 3kms to Ostuni you should note that 1.5kms is along a white road which leads to the trulli.
