The hotel has been in the owner’s family for many years, and just six years ago Salvatore (a Ferrari racing driver!) decided to restore this impressive family home into a luxurious retreat. He named it after his mother – Olimpia. The house is located in private gardens and is just a short walk form the charming town of Sant’Agata sui due Golfi, where there are bars, pizzerias and even a Michelin star restaurant (Don Alfonso).

The welcoming reception leads to the wonderful restaurant. In the summer months both breakfast and dinner are served on the terrace. There is a huge kitchen where it is possible to experience ‘hands-on’ cookery lessons.

Breakfast is a comprehensive buffet and is served until early afternoon. The standard of service is excellent and within a day you will feel completely at home. The restaurant is closed during lunch, however, snacks can be served at the poolside and in the gardens. The restaurant is closed on Thursdays. If you arrive on a Thursday your welcome dinner will be offered on an alternative evening.

The rooms are all on the first and second floor. There are a mixture of classic, suites and one penthouse suite on the top floor complete with huge private terrace and outdoor jacuzzi pool. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious, each has a large bathroom (some with hydro massage baths). They provide some of the best bathroom accessories to be found. All the rooms have external terraces, with chairs and table, and views across to either the Sorrento or the Positano coastline.

The pool is set in the gardens and is the perfect place to relax after a day out exploring this fascinating area of Italy, or the best way to prepare for a wonderful evening meal.

Should you own a helicopter, Oasi Olimpia also boasts the only helipad for miles around.
