Essential Italy

These recently renovated apartments are in the very heart of the beautiful town of Arezzo. Just metres from the main Piazza Grande, they are an ideal place from which to enjoy the magnificent Saracino Jousting Festival, held here on the third weekend of June and the first weekend of September. It’s a lively festival which draws resident Italians and tourists alike to its wonderful atmosphere. Also, throughout the year, on the first weekend of the month, Arezzo gives host to one of Italy’s finest antique fairs. Also in Arezzo, on year-round display, are important works of art by Piero della Francesca, Cimabue and Vasari. If you wish to go further afield, Arezzo is perfectly placed to explore Tuscany and Umbria by car or train – car hire can easily be arranged (call Essential Italy for further details) or the train station is a pleasant ten minute walk from the apartment building.

The apartments themselves are located in an ancient palazzo, restored to a high standard using traditional materials as well as a modern design. It offers an atmosphere of sophisticated elegance which we highly recommend.

Both have living room with sofa bed, separate kitchen, bathroom.

Single bedroom apartments

• Piero della Francesca – sleeps 2 + 2, 3rd floor
Windows facing the Piazza. Air conditioning.
• Guido Monaco – sleeps 2, 3rd floor
Both these apartments have the double bed upstairs in a mansard. Kitchen/living room, bathroom. Air conditioning.

New Apartments

In 2004 the owners of La Corte del Re bought part of the building next door – with stupendous views over the Piazza Grande. Three new apartments have been created and they are of a superb quality.

Signorelli (twin/double) and Michelangelo have windows onto the piazza and Pietro is twin double. They are as good as any four/five star hotel room with the added bonus of a small kitchen area. Michelangelo is a wonderful room, perfect for a honeymoon couple.

Lovely bathrooms, all with showers. Kitchens are all well equipped with hobs, ovens and dishwasher*.
