Il Casale offers guests a very comfortable home-from-home – close to the village of Cortona and set in lovely gardens. From the internal courtyard one can see Cortona high above, and the glorious pool is surrounded by lush greenery. The original farmhouse has been maintained and the interiors are a fine balance of antique and modern comforts. Il Casale is one of the few groups of apartments which has air conditioning for the hot summer months.

There is a selection of one or two bedroom apartments – sleeping from two to five guests.

Mimosa – sleeps 5
First floor. Living room, kitchen, one double bedroom and one bedroom with three beds, bathroom.

Primula, Ciclamino, Mughetto – sleep 4
Ground floor – living room and kitchen. First floor reached by internal wooden staircase – one double and one twin/double bedroom. Bathroom.

Girasole – sleeps 4
Ground floor – living room, kitchen, one double bedroom and bathroom. First floor reached by internal wooden staircase – one twin/double bedroom

Geranio – sleeps 4
The same as Girasole but with two double beds

Gardenia – sleeps 4
Ground floor – kitchen/living room, 2 small double bedrooms and bathroom

Tulipano – sleeps 4
Access via a small stone staircase to first floor and porch entrance. one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, living/dining room with kitchen corner, fireplace, bathroom.

Ortensia – sleeps 2–3
Ground floor – Living room, kitchen and one double bedroom with a single bed in. 2 bathrooms with a shower.

Glicine – sleeps 2
Ground floor – one double bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom.

All kitchens have an oven, hobs and fridge freezer. All bathrooms have showers.

Il Casale provides a great base from where to explore the gems of southern Tuscany and Umbria. Towns such as Montepulciano, Pienza, Arezzo, Assisi and Perugia are all within a short drive. If the train is your preferred means of transport the local station is a few kilometres away. On site there is also a bar (on hot summer days you do not have to go far for a cool drink!). The charming owners also sometimes organise a pizza evening. Il Casale is ideally placed to make the most of this fascinating area of Etruscan origins. Just 2 kms away is Cortona with all its charm and great food (it’s even possible to walk – steep climb).
