Essential Italy

This is your chance to stay in a real Medici villa. Immaculately restored two years ago this 15th century Medici home has been updated and upgraded into a luxurious and elegant holiday home. It is located in the centre of the small and typical village of Stibbio and is only a few minutes drive from the lovely town of San Miniato, famous for its white truffles. The towns of Pisa, Lucca, Florence and San Gimignano are all within easy reach by car.

Entry to the villa is from the central piazza of the village, opposite is the village church. The ground floor is dominated by a spectacular dining room which has been decorated with style and grace. Leading from here there are three further reception rooms and a wonderful kitchen – fully equipped with restaurant quality hobs, including steak grill, dishwasher and fridge freezer. This kitchen will be the centre attraction for foodies. The ground floor is completed with three bathrooms and a store room.

Internal stairs lead to the first floor where there is a huge living room equipped with B&O stereo and satellite TV, as well as a kitchen corner for storing and serving drinks. There are four wonderful double bedrooms and the fifth bedroom has three French beds and ensuite bathroom with shower. Of the four double bedrooms one has a bathroom with hydro massage bathtub and shower, two have en suite bathrooms with showers and one has a bathroom outside the bedroom with shower. There is also the possibility to add further beds and the house is large enough to sleep up to 16 people.

At the back of the villa there is a terrace with seating and dining space. Down some steps there is a grassed garden. The swimming pool is about 800m from the house and can be reached either by foot (2 minutes) or by car. The wonderful pool is fully equipped with sun loungers, bathroom, changing rooms, BBQ, fridge and everything one could need to fully enjoy this special environment. The pool is away from the house because being in the heart of the village it was not possible to build a pool suitable for this wonderful villa within the garden.

To add that special touch to your holiday it is possible to arrange cooks to come to the villa to either produce sumptuous banquets or give hands-on cookery lessons. In nearby San Miniato there is an excellent restaurant called Pepenero and for stays of two weeks or more Essential Italy is pleased to offer a meal here. Attached to Pepenero is Peperino which is a restaurant for only two people – why not book it for that special occasion for a couple in your group?
