Essential Italy

Casa Sestilio is a semi-detached house situated in a small hamlet of about six residential properties. Recent internal restoration has been carried out by the owner Simonetta and the results are wonderful. The swimming pool behind the house, enjoys views across the surrounding countryside. This area of Tuscany has some of the most charming and spectacular villages in Italy – Sovana, Sorano and Pitigliano are incredible sights and visitors will be truly stunned by gems such as Civita’ di Bagnoreggio. Also, add Orvieto and Lake Bolsena, and we believe you will not be searching things to see and do.

Entry into the house is by the kitchen which is fully equipped with dishwasher, large fridge with freezer box, oven, 5 hobs and double sink. Through the kitchen you come to the living/dining room complete with two sofas, open fireplace and dining table. On the ground floor there is a large double bedroom. A small bathroom off the kitchen and the washing machine is under the stairs.

Internal stone stairs lead to the first floor where there is a splendid double bedroom and a large double / twin room. Two bathroom with showers complete the first floor. From both the bedrooms there are views across the rolling hills which surround this small hamlet.

In front of the house is a large patio complete with table and chairs and large sun umbrella. Metal steps lead up to the garden where there is a large sun terrace and grassed garden in the middle of which is the pool. The house has been built in the traditional tufa of the area.

Guests at Casa Sestilio not only have a comfortable house but are also in the middle of a largely undiscovered region of Tuscany – you won’t find the coach loads of tourists, but villages such as Pitigliano have as much to offer than their more famous cousins, such as San Gimignano. Also this area has many thermal baths – the most famous being at Saturnia, about 30kms away.
