The location of Casa Pippo is fabulous. High on a hill overlooking Arezzo, and only a 10 minute drive from the centre of town – up a steep tarmac road. The views from the pool are wonderful, and it will be hard to drag yourself away form the tranquil surroundings.

The house maintains all the traditional features of a Tuscan farmhouse and yet combines this with all modern features. Entry is into a large dining room and living room – off this room is the kitchen, which is fully equipped with dishwasher, hobs, oven, microwave – and in the utility room next door – a large fridge freezer with ice making machine. Also on the ground floor there is a small bathroom.

Internal stairs lead to the first floor where there are four double bedrooms – one of which is en-suite with shower. All the bedrooms are comfortable and furnished with style and taste. One of the bedrooms can be accessed from within the house or via external stone steps. This side of the house would be ideal for a couple wanting extra privacy as there is a second living space and a well equipped kitchen. There are a further two bathrooms, one with bath and the other with shower; also an outdoor balcony where you can sit with a glass of wine and view the garden.

The house is completed by a wine cellar. It possible to buy local wines and produce from the estate.

The gardens are immaculate (there is a full time gardener), and at the top of the garden is a garden-house, where you can eat and even exercise in the small gym. For those looking for action, there are mountain bikes for use and also the owners keep horses, the experienced rider can ride with the owners. The centre piece of the grounds is the lovely swimming pool, set about 20 metres from the house, with a fabulous view of Arezzo and the hills beyond.

The owners live part-time in a house behind Casa Pippo, and are wonderful hosts – respecting completely the privacy of their guests and yet on-hand to help, and cook you those wonderful meals. As well as having Arezzo on your doorstep, you are only a short drive from Cortona, Siena, Florence and many other hilltop towns. All-in-all, Casa Pippo has something for everyone and comes highly recommended.
