The location of casa Certosa is superb – positioned just a few kilometres (approximately 10kms) from the Renaissance home of Florence. From the bedroom window one can see Brunelleschi’s cathedral dome. After a busy day in Florence (either in the galleries or shopping) you will be ready to relax in the garden by the pool with a glass of wine.

Casa Certosa is also just a stones throw away from the Chianti Mountains and the nearby motorway will carry you to any of the wonders of Tuscany. In this location, with good quality accommodation, lovely garden and pool – we believe we have found a little corner of paradise.

This independent house is set apart from the other houses on the property and has its own private garden and parking. Entry is into a well furnished living room, full of paintings and antique furniture. A reception room leads to the kitchen which has a large open fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with oven, small dishwasher, hobs and fridge/freezer. Also on the ground floor is a large bathroom with bath-tub.

Internal stone stairs lead to the first floor where there is a large master bedroom which looks onto the garden. The second bedroom is a twin/double and although smaller, benefits from a view over the hills and vineyards to Florence. The large landing has been divided to create a third bedroom which would be suitable for a fifth member of the party. The upstairs bathroom has a shower. The owner has taken great care over the furnishings and has created a house full of charm and character.

The pool (12 x 5 metres, 1.5m deep) is positioned approximately 30 metres from the house and is shared with another three houses in the grounds, one of which is rented out to guests, Casa Giglio (perfect for two families travelling together, but wanting separate accommodation). It is set amongst olive trees and enjoys a wonderful view across the hills. Your garden is outside your front door and is shaded by bamboo, it is fully equipped with table and chairs. There is also a pizza oven and barbeque. The garden beyond is well kept and in summer there are orange trees in pots and flowers.

Nearby there are several restaurants and Florence is a simple drive or bus ride away. With the motorway exit just 10 minutes away the whole of Tuscany is on your doorstep.
