Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup to be held at Sardinia’s Porto Cervo

A spectacular feast of sailing will be offered once more at this year’s 26th edition of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, which is to be held in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, between September 6 and 12. Hosted and organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, the event celebrates a 30-year partnership with premium watch brand Rolex.

Porto Cervo near our villas in Sardinia – hosting the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup

Several competitions and races will take place across the event, featuring a host of contrasting monohull Maxi yachts, Supermaxis and the all-out racing Maxi 72s. The Cup has a long-standing tradition of showcasing the very best Maxi yachts available, as well as the latest trends and developments from the Maxi design world. One exciting newcomer from the United States will be a 100-ft Maxi Comanche, led by Skipper Ken Read.

The event is one of the jewels in the international sailing calendar, offering something for both sailors and spectators, from the beautiful scenery of Sardinia and the surrounding Mediterranean Sea to its navigational demands and potential for challenging conditions.

Taking place near our range of wonderful villas in Sardinia, the event is a must for those with an interest in sailing, and Porto Cervo, with its picturesque marinas and postcard scenery, is one of the most luxurious seaside resorts in Sardinia, making it well worth a visit.
